I just did it today.. just went to my local computershop and bought two iiyama ProLite E435S-S 17" TFT displays for replacing my 2x CRT 17" (dell 771p, shadowmask (not aperture grill))

Damn.. they're stylish.. they're BIG.. just the screen is so damn big.. and crisp.. did I mention BIG?

why 2 and not one? well.. if you're used to dualscreen like me you know you won't go back to single display.

They were not that expensive. great price for great quality if you ask me. It even has a DVI (digital flatpanel) input. :D

In addition to all that, you'll have saved yourself a ton of desktop space. I wish Iiyama had more widespread distribution here in the States. I've only seen a small handful of e-tailers (and no brick and mortar stores) that carry them. They have really appealing specifications on both their CRT and LCD monitors.

Glad to hear the new displays are working for you. Enjoy!

Congrats! I actually have the same setup, except I have dual 15" LCD instead :(

Oh well, at the time I purchased them the 15" cost what 17" costs now. DOH!

But ya, once you go dual you can never go back to singe

Welcome to the realm of Dual TFT-LCDs! :D

Here are mine: Link (http://kundweb.netatonce.com/~b16272/div/desktop.jpg)

The big one is regrettably a tad slow for really quick games like Unreal Tournament.... I runs slower games like "Pirates!" excellently though...

I wish 19" could do 1600x1200. I really don't understand why they can't. :(

That's what is keeping me on my elderly KDS crt, I just love 1600x1200. I also have a MAGInnovision 17 incher circa 1992 doing 1024x768. I don't know how I am going to survive for 4 years in college with just one monitor.
