Is there any bigger version of the pic? That small pic is 'large' version??
BTW, check this beautiful pic... Earth is beautiful! Isn't it?
This is my attempt to translate the original text:
Picture of the dawn between Europe and Africa, in a cloudless day, taken from a satellite. The lights are on in Paris and Barcelona, while in London, Lisbon and Madrid it's already daylight. In the middle of the ocean you can find the Azores, below it, Madeira, then Canary Islands and finally Cape Verde Islands. The most interesting thing is the perfect vision of the continental plataforms surrounding the Biriths Isles and the other one from Canada surrounding Island.

Nice pic except I think that quote is wrong isnt? Paris is 1hour in front of London, wouldnt Paris see daylight before London? I think its night in Paris, late afternoon in London ;)

Al european countries have all the same time! England is 1 hour in front of Europe (http://www.time.org/local.php) (in England it's earlier), because "average" Europe is to its East.

I live in France and I know that my clock is 1 hour ahead of GMT.

I was refering to this part of the quote where it says "while in London it's already daylight" were as Paris it isn't. Paris sees daylight before London, or else my clock would be -1hr GMT

Oops, my mistake. I got a little confused about the meaning of "in front". Check I wrote "in England it's earlier"... Sorry about that.
Done about the time thing.
About the "daylight" thing, we all know dawn time varies through the year. So at 6AM it can be daylight in summer, but very nighty in winter.
So because of the position of the sun I guess England just got the sun before , just like Spain.
So in other moment of the year, maybe the sun would be nearer the north and enlighten Spain and France first. :)
Or maybe that huge shadow is only made by the arm of an inattentive photographer. :D
