hello, im about to buy a new card but i dont know which one exactly i should get.

here are my personal requirements:

must be 6600 or 6800.
must have dual DVI.
must have silent cooling. (not passive, but silent fan)
must be for AGP slot.

can anyone recommend me a card that fulfills the above requirements?

what about the Pine XFX 6600 GT? how loud is the fan?

thanks a lot!

What is your gaming requirement?

Do u game with AA and AF? then 6800

do u not care about AA and/or AF? then 6600

I dunno if there are any 6800 or 6600 with dual DVIs

i dont care about AA and AF, the only things i care about, i have listed in my first post.

i would be very glad about some specific suggestions.

I dont think it will be loud . dont concern yourself so much about the loudness esp when you are getting a mainstream card . the days of the 5800U is over dude ! :D

Doesn't the XFX 6600GT come with Dual-DVI? Or is that the 6800GT?

I had a bad experience with XFX6600GT. It is very unstable (at least in my system), and there were nothing I could do to alleviate the problem. I ended up RMA it and get a BFG6600GT OC which works great !
Probablly just my bad luck.

Oh ...one more thing...XFX6600GT is LOUD, I got a new version heatsink that their website say it will reduce the temp by 10-20degress, but it didn't (idle 50C, load 80C).

good luck with your card ;)

EDIT: XFX and BFG 6600GT both have dual DVI

thanks a lot for this information.

so no XFX for me then. :)

i never heard of BFG before - seems to be US only.

any other recommendations available in europe too?

what about the gainward cards? thanks!

I thought you're in US, so no BFG then.
I don't know about Gainward cards, try to google it, and also try Galaxy AGP, it looks like a solid card. Try to find the review for both cards.

Galaxy review, hope this help, no dual DVi though :

The current Galaxy 6600GT AGP comes with dual DVI. Seen them first hand. The Guru3D card isn't dual DVI indeed, guess they got an early model.

I dunno if there are any 6800 or 6600 with dual DVIs My 6800GT card has duel DVI's and is AGP. The problem is... you cant buy it anymore (unless you are REALLY lucky and find one somewhere) :p

I highly recommend the videocard I have, the Leadtek 6800 AGP. It's not dual dvi though but the cooling system they use is very quite and effective. I also heard that the odds of being able to unlock both pipelines on the Leadtek 6800's are pretty high and the ram they use, overclocks very well. But if dual dvi is a must, then this isn't the card for you.

Hold on a sec.

I live in the UK, and we can get BFG over here (http://www.pcwcomponentcentre.co.uk/bin/venda?ex=co_wizr-xapian&threshold=30&bsref=componentcentre&morelike=&searchex=&itemsperpage=10śm1=1&searchinvt=1&U=BFG&carryfields=U,A,B&B=&srchopt=U,A,B).

BFG is not exclusive to USA. ;)

I would look into the Galaxy.
I've heard they make great cards.
