id say for a first motherboard attempt its alright, but id still get the DFI/MSI over it
also not a fan of the layout

Get the Chaintech Nforce4 board- same board but cheaper.

I'd go with MIS/DFI, too. Since they have long good reputation on overclocking.
BFG has great warranty support so that alone makes me wanna buy their products. But I agree the PSU connector placement on that board is a disgrace, they need to make a revision 2.0 and move the damn connectors. Then they'll have a solid seller provided it doesn't exceed $150USD

Did you guys read? The BFG board is just a rebadged Chaintech that sells for $50.00 more. I wouldn't even consider getting the BFG board.
