If you don't want a cordless mouse then the Mx518 is looking to be a good mouse with its ajustable resolution 1600dpi, 800dpi to 400dpi.

It is a cool looking mouse.
I know my MX1000 is only 1000dpi.
This one is 1600.

I love my 1000. It games just fine. :)

Man, that is one hell of a nice mouse :drooling:

After I get done with my main PC upgrades, I'll have to go with a sweet mouse like this or the MX1000. I have an MX500 now, been using it for 2-3 years and its still the best mouse Ive ever used :)

From my experiences with cordless and gaming though, it's a no go. Cordless mice don't give you enough tight control as an corded one will

I'm going to disagree with that . i have no problem enjoying my games with cordless mice (MX700/1000) . it just takes a little time to get used of it

The MX1000 is 800DPI max, as with the MX510. Same censors, only lenses and engines are different. The MX518 will contain a whole new censor from Agilent, featuring 1600DPI max (probably not stable, as with the DiamondBack), 16Bit datapath and 1KHz rate (probably not stable, too). We can just hope for true 1px:1px ratio and no accel!

Saw this over the weekend, I'll have to pick one up once they become availible early next month to compare against the Diamondback :)

well i can't see purpose for that mouse...
mx500 is enough for everything, mx510 is more then enough, but mx518 is mouse for making money (of course - for Logitech).

I tend to agree. A 500/510 should be enough.

Even my MX700 kicks ass in games.. and it is a cordless mouse.

no cordless "lag" here though.

I think being able to bump up the sensitivity on the fly through hardware is extremely beneficial in games like the BF series where a tank turret is drastically slower than the standard infantry movement. (btw, don't tell me to bind a key to increase and decrease sensitivity, b/c even with MAX sensitivity on older mice, it is not enough...)

Yeah, my MX700 is awesome. And like you, I don't get any of this "lag". Or at least not that I notice.

All cordless mice work a lot better if you place the receiver right in front of the area you are using it in with a clear line of sight. I know the supposed range is a lot further but distance and/or no clear line of site equals skipping and lag.

Was browsing the local Best Buy during lunch and noticed the MX518 just arrived on the shelves. I couldn't resist so I snagged one. Might do few comparisons tonight against the Diamondback and see how it shakes out.

yea, my diamondback is 1600 DPI. i would get a 518 cause i like the look, only problem is they only design for right handed users

Logitech, make left handed mice and you will own the market. id buy one in a second.
