I have always said that in any business, never let any of your retailers have more than 15% of your gross sales. Why? Because once any single one of them grabs more than 20% of your gross sales, they will turn around and tell you how to run your business. They'll dictate every facet of it.

This steaming pile of excremento de toro involving Wal-Mart again is a prime example of this theory at work. We already know that Wal-Mart dictates to major record labels and artists to make certain concessions in order to get their music carried by Wal-Mart as they don't lose 15-20% of their potential royalties.

Now, Wal-Mart is doing the same thing to the console and PC gaming industry and it has pissed off the reknowned "Levelord" and a slew of other developers who claim it is downright censorship.

Here's the rest of the steaming pile...

Interesting read. I didn't realize that Napalm was the Walmart only version of NAM. I figured Napalm was just the US version of the game.

I'm glad there is an EB nextdoor to my Walmart.

Wal-Mart's critics say its limitations on video games are unnecessary. Since all titles sold by the retailer must already contain a label from the Entertainment Software Ratings Board, consumers can make their own decisions about buying a particular game

Amen to that, why we have to have a bunch of conservative morons preaching family values to us I dont know. I hope one day the idiots that run this company pull their heads out of their ass just long enough so I can see the look on their face as I run them down in a Challenger 2:mad:

It's because of this kind of stuff that people need to wake up and go to Best Buy, EB or any other retailer to buy their games. It's not like Wal-Mart's prices are that much lower than Best Buy's anyway.

I have no problem with stores not wanting to sell M-rated games to minors, but this type of cr@p crosses the line. Unfortunately it doesn't appear as though the small developers can do a darn thing about it. :(

OT - when I saw the phrase "Wally World" in the topic, I initially thought Sy was talking about my old church, St. Walter parish heheh.

I'm sure they would make an exception for Doom III. That would be an example of their double standards.
