I'm currently using a basic Microsoft USB optical mouse.
I don't need wireless, what do you serious gamers recommend?
I've never used any other optical mouse and wondered if there are any better ones available.

Thanks in advance.........

I use the Logitech 510MX, Its very comfortable and has plenty of extra buttons to map some extra functions on.

For a corded mouse the MX510 is hard to beat...excellent mouse.

Yeah, what everyone is saying. The Logitech MX510. I personally have the MX700 (it's wireless) and I love it. Absolutely love it. But if you don't need/want wireless, go with the MX510.

I've been using my Logitech MX500 for 2 or 3 years now. Excellent mouse, especially with the new mouse feet I bought a few weeks ago. I recommend anything from Logitech, they are by far the best mousers around :D

I used to have the same mouse as you, and I too never thought that I would want or need a wireless mouse, but everyone was saying how great the MX700. Well I bought one, and I love it....alot, but now I want the MX1000 :D

I love the Logitech MX700 (wireless, lag free), but if you must go cordless, get a MX518 or MX510 if not available. These are the best mice for gaming. You will still need a suitable surface.

I have ha MX1000 and I have compared it to my brother's MX700 and the MX1000 is lightyears faster in respons and precision. The MX700 have a slight lagg. Kinda feels like the pointer is stuck at the end of a rubber-rod... If you wan't a cordless mouse go for the MX1000, there's no substitute ;) . Only negetive thing is the weight.

I had the MX700 and the only place I noticed lag was when you let the mouse sit for a few minutes and then came back and moved it. Continuous or near continuous movement was fluid but I think it has some sort of battery save mode built in where it sort of goes to sleep if you don't touch it for a bit.

I also bought an MX1000 for my parents for Christmas... and I must say, this is the most responsive, comfortable... just the best mouse I have ever used. Blows away my MX510. but I can't say I'm ready for wireless yet... gonna check out the MX518 in April.

I love my mx1000, it is wireless but has a rapid recharge station. The charge lasts about 2 weeks with a fair amount of usage and it only takes about 2 hours to charge. It is also the most response mouse i have ever used. Takes some getting used to but it's great.

Wow, 2 weeks?!?! That's pretty sweet. I've never had my MX700 die on me but then again whenever I leave my computer for a while, I put it in it's charger. And I love the weight of it.

A brown field mouse...
I prefer the gray ones myself... they tend to squeek less during 6 hour gaming sessions :D

HELL YA! MX1000. the worlds best, and FIRST actual LAZER mouse. even reads on glass, with NO performance degregation.
