LeBron James scored 56 points on yesterdays game between Cleveland Cavaliers vs Toronto Raptors!

He is the youngest every player to score above 50! and 56 is the franscise record for the Cavs!

This kid is amazing, isn't he?

Congrats to him and his team. I hope that he ends up being good for basketball, I really do....

Yea, but they just fired Paul Silas which, IMO, was the best coach that Cleveland EVER had....They take one step forward, 3 steps backward.

I never liked Silas though ...

Lenny Wilkins w00t? HE's the best coach they ever had (IMO), and if ONE of the main 3 from that era (Nance, Price, Daughtery) would have stepped up in any way similar to what Lebron is doing, the Bulls would have had a much harder time in the nineties...

Lebron scores 56, Cav's lose.

Means nothing if your team doesn't win.

I like the way Lebron plays normally but everytime he gets a big score, his team seems to lose (a la Iverson)

Their firing of Silas is a BONEHEADED move. He was the best coach for the team. The fact the team can't get it done is no reason to off the coach that got you here.

I just hope they don't go on a slide right out of the playoffs.

Yah I do too.

I simply wish some people would pay more attention to other good kids like Dwayne Wade or Stoudemaire and give them more press.

Everything is Lebron all the time. If he fails, the NBA is f*cked coz they have put all their eggs in one basket.

Spread the love, promote the other young players (ie the Spurs young guns) and you will have a better product.

Wade is every bit as explosive a scorer and as flashy a player but gets barely a whisper in his direction.

yes the fact that he scores 56 (more than 50% of the team's points) and the team is losing is worrying...

but cavs are a new team and james is still TOOOOO young...

Let's not forget that this was done against...Toronto :canadian:

Seriously, that is amazing at his age but the bottom line is "scoreboard" like Sazar said.

now the Cavs have a new coach .. and who knows who they bring in the summer ?

Phil Jackson maybe? He always liked working with superstars ...

With egos smaller than the state the team plays in. LeBron, I have to give him credit. He seems like a good kid who has kept his nose clean. He knows the consequences of stepping out of line under such tight scrutiny.

He reminds me of Rooney at everton. When a medium sized club bases its whole team around a mega star, the team suffers. If they sell that player for a huge profit, they can then bring in 3 or 4 quality players that imrpove the side moreso than the one mega star did.

Not only that, he listens to his mom. That says alot for a superstar....

Yeah, I think he needs to learn what Jordan did. You can't win consistently doing everything yourself. You have to get the others involved or you'll end up putting up big numbers but the team will still lose.

Still, an impressive feat especially considering his age.

Silas gets fired after a loss in Toronto, and then gets replaced (on an interim basis) by a former Raptors coach, Brendan Malone. kind of fitting.

I would not have fired Silas until after this Pistons Game tonight.

I don't like seeing anyone one on a team score aboce 30 if the rest of the team has 15-20. I understand there will always be a imbalance but I believe in the team and single players scoring high means nothing to me.

As far as Lenny goes he is and always will be a Sonic. ;)

Lebron scored 56 points becasue no one else on their team could step up to the plate. If you look at his percentage it was over 50%, and if someone can raise those numbers with that kind of percentage, let him take every shot he wants to.

So his team dosen't win all the time - well, people said the same thing about Michael Jordan at the beginning of his career. Jordan used to put up insane numbers (mainly because the rest of his team sucked), and his team still never made it past the first round of the playoffs for about the first 7 years. Look at what Lebron is doing - he took a last place team and is leading them to the playoffs.

That is my point jonk. The imbalance of the team. I am not a fan of super-star players. I enjoy a well balanced team that wins. I am also the type of fan and former basketball player who didn't like names on the back of the jersey.

That's not necessarily true. James is an above average athlete. He's a gifted kid that can put up 35+ points a night.

As far as Lenny goes he is and always will be a Sonic. ;)true, that, especially since he has been a disinterested and awful coach for years, most recently screwing up the Raptors and the Knicks. the game passed him by along time ago. hopefully he has cashed his last paycheck.

It is true. The fact that there might be a team with a great super star and win champions does not demish the fact that a much more often a balance scoring team will win more games than a team with one super star scoring points.

Now this does not take away from LeBron at all. Scoring a average fo 35 points a game is fantastic but if he is the only one doing it then we all know the results.

BTW who said you can disagree with me? Get back in line before I salp you up-side the head.

hey, look at the Shaq-less Lakers. it is now Kobe's team, he scores the most points, and they are currently out of the play-offs. LeBron is a great player and athlete, but they need to build a team around him that can win.

The first word "disinterested" is PERFECT to discribe his career the last 5 years. Spot on. To bad, since he is most likely the best coach in the NBA's history and no body bring up Phill Jackson. I will errupt. Lenny is a far better coach. I hate that whole "zen" crap. If Lenny ever had the teams Phill had he would win a butt load of championships also.

Damn BigC, we think a like in basketball. ;)

You are right, they need to teach LeBron how to be a better team player and give him better team mates.
