Cannot install any drivers?? WTF

Hi I have a big problem, I can't seem to install any device drivers!

I have tryed to install 5 different forceware drivers and all give me the error

Error Code: -5011 : 0x80040702
Error Information:

If I go into device manager, the update driver button greys out when I press it and nothing happens.

I have tryed sfc/ scannow, checking my admin rights and checking various services and policies, all seem correct

Can anyone shed any light on this matter? I really want to play Act of War!

Im usin XP pro btw with SP1 and all updates

Maybe your chipset drivers became corrupted, somehow.

Reinstall the newest version of whatever chipset driver you need and see if that helps.

Have tryed, have also tryed reinstalling sp1.

Just tryed to find any registry values concerning this particuar install key, nothing found. Deleted invalid install shield folders/references, no luck.

Im sure this is either related to install shield, some registry key(s) which I have deleted (i do a lot of messing around) or some corrupt windows file.

But I couldn't find any corrupt files and I have reinstalled any registry backups.

Im goona stick my ghost image in now, has the os, all drivers and tweaks and office and a loads of apps, but no games :(.

Hopefully will be back in a few minutes (last ghost image was corrupt and resulted in phone getting smashed with a hammer)

Woo, all back to normal, recent downloads, ducuments and favourites added.

Thank god the image worked this time

Don't mess around in the registry so much?

Messing around and tinkering with things is how we learn.

I can see where your coming from though.
