Why does everyone find the urge to post their entire system specs in their sig? It only makes me turn off sigs due to having to scroll 4 pages past everyones hex overclocked athlon 49299+ MHZ 50230mb ram that no one gives a flying about.

Can we please have some moderation? Personally I'd limit to a max of 3 lines of 80 characters. Current sigs are just silly. In protest I have created my own sig!

Because it's better than reposting your system specs every time you have a problem or anything like that.

So every time someone posts they have are having problems with their system?

I can understand having a one line link to system specs, but not dumping the entire system and sometimes software specs in the sig every single post... oh well. Back to lurking I go :)

Plus, saying that you overclocked your P4 1.6a to 6.2Ghz just looks really sexy too ;)

In protest I am keeping my sig, and possibly making it longer.:o

Your sig that mocks mine is hilarious though. (rich) :D

i use to have a super long sig, i found it quite pointless, so i reduced it. we really don't need to know what mouse you have, speakers, etc when dealing with troubleshooting your computers.

however i don't mind if someone has a overly long sig. whatever floats their boat.

R1CH just look at your sig. It's not short either.

You know, you could always run in a higher resolution.... or increase the speed of the scroll wheel on your mouse... or become intimiately familiar with the space bar in IE... :p

I decided to get rid of the smiley a put it in a real sig. Mine could possibly be one of the shortest on the forums.:p

Simple solution is post your sig horizontal not vertical and you always can use size=1 for space saveings :p

It's just to show off.
Or did you ever read a sig that had an AMD K6-2? Or Pentium II or Pentium MMX? :p

The horizontal system spec sig is much better.
Instead of writing for example "Intel Pentium III EB 800 MHz Box overclocked to 840 MHz (that's a 133 MHz bus overclocked to 140 MHz)"
Write: "P3 800EB@840". :D

Don't forget everytime you post the sig can be checked on or off. ;)

Made mine much smaller now. ;)

Seems like most people are following the trend of only posting the key essentials in a single line. I do find page long spec sigs to be annoying. Nobody really cares about the type of mousemat you have.
