My friend just got an ATI Radeon X800 256mb. If I got an SLI motherboard with 2 6800GTs would that be faster then his card. We're in a power struggle and I want to ahve the better system.

It all depends on the rest of the system aswell and the software would also need to optimized for the SLi rig. So techincally you would be faster but if the software doesn't take advantage of it then no, he would be faster.

Am I reading this right?
X800 256mb vs 2 SLi 6800GTs?

The X800 (http://www.hexus.net/content/reviews/review.php?dXJsX3Jldmlld19JRD05OTk=) is a downclocked version of the X800Pro, which was supposed to compete with the 6800GT. A single 6800GT should be faster than his X800.

For an X800 or X800Pro .. yes a 6800GT SLI will be faster except in some games that dosent support SLI yet & well-known to be ATi friendly , in that case the X800Pro might edges ahead or keep up with the 6800GT.

Agreed, a single 6800GT will have better performance than an x800, let alone x2 6800GT's running in SLI.

So to put your mind at rest bonchez (and your ego)........x2 SLI 6800GT's vs. x800 = no contest.
