What do you think it could be? From the pages of the latest PCGamer:

In 28 days, it's ANOTHER WORLD EXCLUSIVE announcement that will be found only in our pages. One of the biggest franchises in PC gaming makes its triumphant return, and we'll have all the details.

Biggest franchises in PC gaming.... I've been trying to figure it out but I have no clue.. heh.

Quake IV? Diablo III? Total Annihilation 2? Neverwinter Nights 2? StarCraft 2 (yea right)? Duke Nukem Forever (yea right like that's ever gonna happen lol)?

My best guesses are:

Neverwinter Nights 2 exclusive info
Tomb Raider (next) exclusive info
Mortal Kombat (next) info for PC

franchises in PC gaming...so im guessin that might count out MK and tomb raider. sounds pretty big so my real guess that they are talking about unreal tournament 2006/2007, or quake4. they may call it exclusive but didnt every magazine have a article about hl2 and doom3 and still called it exclusive?

bah

I'm honestly sick of franchise gaming. Yay, Tomb Raider 23879489127834781923784192378417298347189239418237 41789231792389417928384797293487127389419278341729 38417279819237849278347878932478397827842793894879 2348

and... Madden 23784237894729384729384273897424723894977289892383 47279881234789173284172983423484862342638426244283 4622434286428632424684342

THANKFULLY, the Sims is only up to 2 now...

UT+ is the only franchise I enjoy the refreshes. No more Quake, no more Madden, HalfLife is done now, Halo2 needs an expansion that's downloadable so the owners can feel like they weren't just horridly anal-raped by the ending (and then, let's promptly KILL the franchise and move on), etc etc etc etc

Let's cancel the movie "Bewitched" with Nicole Kidman simply because of the fact it's "yet another obligatory rehash because writers are getting increasingly uninventive". Let's do something with Riddick, and let it be the last. Let's stop making movies with "Aliens" and "Predators" in them. argh

Fable, now that was a good start as a "new" piece, look at "spore" as this game is a stroke of genious at its finest. Man I could drone on about this...

i think there might be a tiny chance it would be Duke Nukem. its not likely, but think about the hype it would create? and how hard would it be to hide the progress on a game like that? noone cares about it anymore, so hmmm....

or maybe the next System Shock game.

Duke Nukem.

Well, I feel by the wording 'triumpent return' it cant be a game that is expected or has had regular releases such as Unreal games, TombRaider etc. It has to be something that has been gone forever.

Duke is a possible choise, but i really do feel they will release it before doing exclusive previews to the press because they did about... 2 of thouse????

I do have to say, it could be StarCraft, because its so huge it honestly still outsells new games today.

So pritty much I agree with MustangSVT on that one.

Since CGW just had a feature on UT 2006...gee, what do you think it could be?

Read the first post in this thread....PC Gamer (not CGW) "...will be found only in our pages..."

Well, I'll probably regret this, but I seriously think it could be Duke Nukem Forever. I dont know if itl actually be coming out ever, but I think they are probably talking about DNF. I dont really know any other franchises that are in line for a triumphant return. Even the Quake series... everyone knows Quake 4 is in the works, and Quake 3 is still pretty damned popular, its not like DNF where the last game is almost 10 years old now.

Total Annihilation 2 That would be great :headbang:

I'd love a TA2, but I know it won't be that. Hmm...maybe...SYSTEM SHOCK 3! OK I'm kidding myself, but now I'm really wondering what it could be...maybe...Duke Nukem Forever 2? Maybe they got bored of making DNF so they just scrapped it and went straight to 2 :D

One of the recent gaming mags had a letter by a guy asking about Tomb Raider. The magazine responded saying they thought something was in the works but details were sketchy.

Edit: Not saying that is my guess but we might be seeing another Tomb Raider at some point.

God forbid starcraft 2 becomes a space version of warcraft 3, which sucked mr. garrisons detached balls.

Yeah, what would be wrong with an old school approach to SC2? I mean if they kept it a 2D game (perhaps with some 3D) and used all the resources that would free up to make much more massive maps, larger armies, more weapons, units, etc...I'd be on board for that much more than a SC2 in 100% threeeeee-deeeee. :)

I bet it will be either Half Life 3 or Duke Nukem Forever. It just has to be unless it is something not that big of a franchise.
