I am looking into getting the ASUS A7N8X deluxe version and I had a question or two about it.

I keep seeing it advertised with Serial ATA. Does this mean it doesn't include regular parallel ATA connectors on the board, or does it have both?

The reason I want the deluxe version is for the 2 LAN ports on-board.

Yes it does have both. I am very sure that it has the two ata-133 ports provided by the chipset

The chaintech board actually has 3 ata-133 and 2 serial ata's on it, but no dual lan a decent lan card isnt over $20 USD anyway

Cool.

I have more LAN cards than I care to count so that isn't a big deal. The fact that I can have both on board though is nice and frees up some PCI slots, not to mention making airflow in the case a little better.

However 3 ATA ports begs the question:

Does that mean I can theoretically have 4 HDDs and 2 CD(dvd/cd-rw/whatever) drives?

Yep. 2 of the ports are from the chipset (nforce 2) and one is from the promise controller. The promise controller also supplies the 2 onboard s-ata ports, but only one drive at a time can be attached to those The chaintech board has firewire too, but its on a riser card. I kinda like it myself

sorry about the lack of punchtuation, but im not being real picky about my writing style today

It does definately include parallel. Go for it! It rocks! (ahem)
