I'm using the fan that came with the CPU(Prescott 3 Ghz,Socket 775) and I'm very happy with it in terms of temperature, but it is very noisy during games. Can anyone recommend a fan/heatsink that willl be both quiet and allow me some overclocking in the future? Is the Zalman 7700CU good?Only air cooling solutions please,I'm not a big fan of water cooling.

The cooler you mentioned will do the job perfectly.. And I checked the compatbility of your mainboard for the 7700Cu.. it will fit. but you need a clearance of 6.5mm between your board and PSU..

A Thermalright XP-90 paired with a Panaflo medium-output fan will work as well. Heatsink Factory (http://www.heatsinkfactory.com) has a good selection of fans and gives you detailed specs on all of them. They're my favorite place to shop for stuff like this.

Thanks for the replies...The only thing that makes me hesitate is the fact that the 7700cu is monstrous and it is really heavy.Any other recommendations from other companies? How about Coolermaster?Thermaltake?

yeh - buy the 76700alcu - its half the weight and less than 5% performance drop on the cooling.

dont be an arse and get the "900grm" 7700cu get the 600Grm alcu

remember the weight limit on most sockets is 450!!!!

Will the 7700 Alcu be able to adjust its speed according to cpu load?My motherboard has that option and I'd like to use it with my new cooler,as I do now.

Yes it will, you can also control that manually with that fan.

That is a pretty good overclock. How did you manage to go that high? Are you using water cooling?
