hello,

i have had my card since around August and have had no issues up until recently. I have noticed small pixel artifacting within windows, and in my games i get severe black and white "flashlight" artifacts and various color corruption.

At the time i was having this issue i was running driver version 66.93. I uninstalled those drivers and ran driver cleaner then installed the newest 71.84 drivers, which fixed nothing. .

My setup is as follows:

MSI K8N Neo platinum Mb
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
1 gb Pc3200 geil memory
450 Watt Hercules PSU
Windows XP Professional w/ SP2

any ideas?

73 idle is way high. It should be at about 55-58C. What do the rest of your system temps look like?

CPU is around 37c idle 44c at full load. system temp isnt even registering though.

you are running drivers that probably have the temp bug, you can overclock your card to 401 or download the latest drivers in the driver section that take care of the temp issue.

reverted back to 61.77 and the temp issue has been fixed. Artifacting has gone away completely as well.

thanks folks.

I notice you have a MSI board so I'll throw this at ya for future reference (i doubt you want to stay with 61.77...):

Check your Performance Mode in the BIOS - At anything higher than "Slow" your board is actually overclocking the AGP bus (as well as PCI and DRAM). Try taking down your Performance Mode, and you can usually make up the performance loss by tightening up your memory timings (its not a noticable loss unless you're into benchmark scores).
