I have QuickTime Pro version 6.5.1, not the free download version everyone can get.

I got it so I can right click and save as QuickTime movie when the pop-up movie finished loading. I can't save windows media player movie pop-ups.

I can do it for the majority of quicktime movie pop-ups, but for some reason, especially on pay-sites, some I can right click and save and others the "save as quicktime movie" and "save as source" are unavailable. Is it because of permissions set by the pay-site or I need a better version? Or do I need to use an alternate .mov player that allows all downloading of files?

I believe it is because the movies are locked. I think there is an option when encoding quicktime movies to not allow them to be saved as. Some people do this, some don't. I'm not sure if there is a way to get them. There is an option in quicktime settings to save all movies to cache, so you might check your internet temporary files and copy it out of there. But when they lock it, it may also prevent it from being put in your temp files in the first place. Its worth a try though.

Yes, some are blocked thru the Quicktime scripting on the site. However, that being said, it is still possible to get them. You have to go to View > Source and try and find the link in there of the actual movie (.mov file). What I then do is highlight and copy the address of the movie i.e. "http://www.website.com/movies/quicktime.mov" and then I make a short html file using Notepad and just make a hyperlink to it. Save the document as a .html file on your desktop and then open it with IE or fav browser. I usually just use the text Click Here, but whatever you want, just right-click on the text and click on Save Target As..whala! You got it! I even got the Extra Large Trailer of Star Wars Ep 3 that way and it was streaming, although a bit trickier, as they had an extra letter in the file name keeping from doing it the way mentioned above, but once I figure that out, I did it exactly like that. If you can't right-click and do save as thru quicktime then it won't be in your temp internet files either. If you have any more questions, just PM me, I'll be glad to help!

Yeah, I do what GRUNT says often. Its even worse when you want to encode them as a different format though... gotta use TMPGEnc, anything else wont work.
