I just purchased an AMD64 3000+ with winchester core, and bought a new mobo as well...the ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. The setup is totally different then what i'm used to with my old mobo and athlon xp...

How should i do it? Put the hyperthreading thing at like x5, and cpu frequency which is stock should be like 266 with the multiplier of 9 to get 2.4 which is what i see most people OC to. Also, should the CnQ be off?

I tried a few different things...most of the time i just get my mobo saying "system failed cpu overclock" when i reset, and once i got it to work but then when it got to windows it crashed...

Lower the HTT to 4x or possibly even 3x. if your running such a high fsb. You do not want to go over 1ghz htt. (266x4=1064)

Bump up the voltage a tad also :)

Make sure you drop your memory ratio also.. you definetely dont wanna be running at 1:1 since your memory is not rated that high...

the voltage is set at auto setting, and i'm not quite sure what the current/standard voltage for it is...

I was wondering why you asked those questions BEFORE telling us you upgraded. :)

Yeah, I figured I better clear it up before people started asking questions... like how I managed to cram a 6800GT AGP into a PCI-E slot :D
