View Full Version : "bold new direction" aka being a retard and liquidating for being a loser

Whatever man, blatant SPIN, and they are going for it. I use to think they were cool, sad to read about this...

I'm sure you can imagine my shock when he called to tell me that he was shutting down his game development facility in San Luis Obispo.

"This is a choice, not a necessity. The choice is a daring one, and not an obvious one to make. We see the excitement of what can be. We think that requires a new model. We want to stay focused on the creative content and taking that to new levels."

Which translates to: Yeah, I'm like TOTALLY rich now, and I just feel like being a prick and defying all logic and firing all those dumbass artists/programmers that helped me get filthy rich. We just had some successful titles, so the reward is screwing the developers in the ass.

F*** you, and have a horrible day

Meh... only Oddworld game I enjoyed was the first... after that I hated them all.

Oddworld was awsome when it was 2D, when it went 3D it just changed too much...

A Penny Arcade for every occasion, and an occasion for every Penny Arcade.

Hmm, I don't see any problem with what he is doing. The changes seem to be nessary for the direction he wants to go. Apperenly his former model wouldn't allow him to go in the direction he wants to go, but the new model will.

The new direction of being an asshole, anyway.

my wife loved those oddworld games, untill microsoft got a hold of em : /

She played the xbox ms one but didnt like it nearly as much. Same thing happened to Bungie's Myth series, after ms got a hold of em the third myth was developed by some company i don't recall. It was just a rehash of mythII and sucked pretty bad :(
Myth Tfl was so fun to play back in the day... Good thing Halo did so well, or Bungie prolly woulda went under aswell..

poor mac users lost there best game dev in bungie (imo) when ms took em over :(

Wouldn't that be something if Bungie revisited the Myth universe, those were some great games.. Didn't even know they had a Myth III..

Myth III hit bargain bin's like 2 days after release, I tried the demo once and un-installed it promptly..

yeah, I remember Myth 3 too, I also remember thinking "jeez, this hit $20 pretty damn fast"
