holy crap what a night tonight was.
Diego Sanchez. What can I say? He's was dedicated, focused, and outclassed his competition. Although I must say the middleweights on the show were kind of lacking. I really would like to have seen Chris do a bit better, I really liked his style (fighting wise).
forest - bonnar
WOW
personally i judged the fight completely backwards from the judges. i thought bonnar won that fight hands down. But sadly, counterpunch fighters never seem to be "controling" the fight. Personally I think most mma judges dont have a clue though since most of them have never fought in their lives.
Shamrock.....
wow tough break. that slip could have happened to anyone. the recovery into that submission attempt was amazing though wasnt it?
bring on season 2 =D
God i cant wait for bonnar/forest 2
Shamrock

Shamrock still fights or are you talking about his team? There were 3 fights on the card Saturday right. I like the naked choke submission the champ put on the challenger, if we are talking about the same program. ;)

umm... the TUF finale didnt have any belted champions fighting.
the fights were
Sanchez vs. Florian (sanchez via tko)
Bonnar vs. Griffin (Griffin in unanimous decision)
Shamrock vs. Franklin (Franklin via tko)
What I was talking about with Shamrock is he threw a roundhouse kick slipped and went straight to his ass on it. Franklin was all over him like a pit bull and ground and pounded till there was stoppage (which came fast I think the ref stopped it so quick knowing shamrocks face sells products... doing him a favor)
most of the other TUF fighters fought on the undercard but that wasnt televised
I will be front row next week at the real fights. Look for me on PPV. :D

Ummm that is why I asked if we were talking about the same program. There was a replay on Sunday that had the fights I was talking about. Either way sounds like you saw one heck of a fight card.

well if you missed it, spiketv is replaying it like crazy. they replayed it again monday, im sure theyll do it again this week.
spike seems to be REALLY behind UFC right now. Hell they even dropped WWE to pickup more UFC stuff.
Next seasons ultimate fighter is going to be welterweights and middleweights i believe

see i look at pro wrestlers differently than i do ufc. they dont hide the fact that its fake anymore. not for years actually hence why they call it "sports entertainment".
I kind of look at them like circus performers, like the trapease (sp?) artists and the like. I mean there is a skill in taking bumps all night week after week. It's like big play super heroes sort of. I think the key is to not take it seriously at all ya know? But even lately, I don't watch as much anymore.

Yea, the Bonnar vs Griffin fight was killer. I can't believe those guys BOTH took that many HARD punches and kept on fighting the full 15 mins. Good sh|t.
I got some decent shots last night:

Shame Randy caught that thumb. I wish he didn't go on, but pride got in the way and he didn't even see the knockdown shot coming.

yeah it was a shame wasnt it? i captured it and watched it about 4 times now. i thought it was funny as hell how the new light heavyweight champ mentioned the "other" mma federation as soon as he could. i bet dana LOVED that lol. especially after giving the guy a custom built hummer lol.
i think i liked the mayhem fight most. dispite his loss. that guys just so unorthodox and fun to watch. he took a serious beating and still kept coming. one tough sob.
i studied from 6-18 and gave it up as i thought there was no real future in it for me. actually decided to start training again as a GREAT school is here by my house (run by one of carlson gracie's blackbelts). I can't wait to get my head beat in on a regular basis again lol
how you end up at ringside? either you have a lot of money, or some sort of connection to the mma scene. just curious
WRT my sitting ringside, suffice it to say that I have a unique job.
