Device Drivers the weak spot
They told us it’s going to provide real support for the new 64-bit processors. They told us that the Microsoft Windows x64 Professional edition is coming very soon. But they didn’t emphasize the ugly fact.

This really does not surprise me.
driver support wasnt overwealming when XP came either, but back then you could usually install most Win2K drivers on XP so it wasnt a total disaster..
With XP x64 its a bit different tho, since the drivers has to be 64bits to install..
Ill just give it some time, only driver I missed when I used RC2 was Logitechs mouseware, the mouse still worked but the accel was wierd without them..
And I think MX700 runs on lower DPI without the drivers installed..
I wouldnt really put the full blame on MS for the driversupport, sure they could perhaps been putting more heat on others, but then again they prolly figure that everyone will follow their lead cause they are so big and mighty and all that, but still, they arent the one that should be writing drivers..
And they seem to totally fail mentioning that the OS is faster, 32bit games seems to run smoother and such..
