It appears my secondary computer's monitor has finally choked. These horizontal distortion lines jiggle in an unstable manner and the entire picture jerks up and down during start up. Calms down a little after ten minutes of use.

Blown capacitor? Damaged CRT? Anyone had this issue before? Easy $100 repair job or toss into the garbage?

looks like the monitor is done for. if it can degaus give it a try.

If it's your second system, try swapping monitors. I have seen video cards cause that.

hit it really hard.... because, I droped my samsung lcd... go me, and it was all green and had lines through it, so i hit it a few times, and now it works perfect...

EDIT: check your refresh rate.
