Intel 875P/865 Support Dual Core?

One pretty interesting piece of information emerged from the R&D labs is that the 875P/865 chipsets can support Intel dual-core processors with just a BIOS flash. It has been tested and running well so far as we have learned. However, 925/915 series may poise a problem and a circuitry re-wiring on the PCB might be needed to support dual-core.

Too bad that majority of 865/875 chipsets dont have 775 sockets, maybe for a few people it'll be a good thing. But which board vendor would have the guts to release a bios so a dual core would work on a 865/875 chipset, intel wouldnt like that.

Only if they could bring one more CPU update for us 875P people...

I hope Asus will come up with an adaptor so that S478 board can use the adaptor and use a LGA775 CPU, that would rock. But then again all the S478 board use 20pin power connector, will that be enough for dualcore monster??

I really doubt it. A 20 pin PSU is barely enough for a 775 p4
