VMware is a company, not a product. That's like going to tech support saying you can't get your Adobe to run.
What VMware product are you using? Workstation? ACE? GSX? ESX? Virtual Center?
Let's assume VMware Workstation 5, since it was just released last week...
- Is your Audigy working correctly under the host OS?
- Do you have more than one sound adapter to confuse Workstation, such as
on-board sound?
- What is your host OS?
- Does audio work with any other guests besides Win2003?
- What do you see under Edit Virtual Machine Settings > Hardware tab. Do you see any audio device installed? (My dialog shows "Default Adapter")
- is the check box Connect at power on checked?
- is the radio button for Use default host adapter selected?
Oops.. sry !
i'm running VMware Workstation, and my host OS is WindowsXP pro w/ sp2
the sound card is working fine ( there is no problem with the sound card..)
the on-board is disabled..!
and yes, when i run Knoppix as a guest os it works!
and i do see the my audigy... :P mine shown Default adapter and "SB Audigy [D800]"
and on check box is checked...!
well it was... then i tried swicthing it, doesn't work... :P
