View Full Version : R520 scores 14,642 in 3DM05
First it's the fake 3Dmark scores then it's the squinting and blurred out photos. It happens every year. :p

What is even funnier is the "Pentium 4 CPU x.xx GHz" part. Who would guess that the Intel SLI could give such a high score? ;)

Well, I see my thread got moved.
Sorry mods just trying to get the nonnvidia
forum going a little bit. ;)
Just having a bit of fun last night. :afro2:
Anyway I really do not see a single
card turning in this kind of performance.
Plus we know d@mn well it's not running
a 700Mhz core.
Heck ati can hardly get the PE with super
cooling to just over 500mhz.
A higher IPC is the way to go not mhz.
Yea fake, plus the R520 was rumored to have 3x the performance of a single x800xt!
Heh, the guy from HardwareOC asked W2S to remove the post from the news saying it was an April fool's joke.
wow thats tough to say. it possibly was ran at 800x600 or so.

Ggrgrgr, and I thought there was a new fact about the R520, but it appears to be a bump of an old theard...
well, last benchmark scores I heard from the r520 were 12000+ (not 14000)
That's still a long way off of the mentiond G70 score of 7800..
that really means that the 7800GTX really is a refresh of the 6800Ultra (G70>nV40) and that the R520 will be in the same position as the 9700Pro reigning supreme for at least half a year, if not more!.
oh well, us dutchies allways look in the wrong places after a blunt eh? :afro2:
THe 7800 will be a refresh pretty much has they have all the same features as the 6800 range except with basic Longhorn support WGF1.0 or something.
it's not a straight refresh, a few things have changed

Ok please people as much as the ati lovers would want to see another 9700 vs gf4/gf5 fiasco its just not going to happen. Unless of course amd has picked up another former sgi company we don't know about which has better technology then them again, lol. Which is exactly how they GOT the r300 in the first place. I mean the r300 was never supposed to exist on the pc market. Nvidia never saw it coming because it wasn't coming until they aquired art x. Nvidia wasn't competing against art x they were competing against ATI. I don't see it happening unless they plan on doing a technology skip in generations which they can't even afford currently.
Now I'm a big fan of the art x tech, but i just don't see it happening. Now i'm not math genius here but based on their progression from the two chipsets they have released since reformating their company after the aquisition of art x, which put them on the map. I don't quite see how it would be capable of making that drastic a leap over what people are speculating the G70 is capable of. Since after all this is all speculation.
THe 7800 will be a refresh pretty much has they have all the same features as the 6800 range except with basic Longhorn support WGF1.0 or something.
Every DirectX 9 card has support for WGF1.0! WGF 1.0 is just DX9 renamed! My guess is that the cards following the G70 and R520 will have WGF 2.0 support.
Alright enough bumping already... old, fake, and meh :p
