Was doing quest this morning and up in the Iron Horse Mines there's some really cool looking scenery.

And what's observer mode and how do you get into it?
Observer Mode allows you to watch PvP (tombs, GvG) matches in which top-ranked guilds are involved. The games are shown with a 15-minute delay so that you can't cheat :). You can chat with other observers while observing, and discuss strategy. A lot of times, people from the nicer guilds that were actually playing the same game will join up with the observers and provide running commentary about what was going on at the time.

To bring up the list of games available for observation, press B, or use the Menu. Try it -- if you have ever PvP'ed, or are interested in PvP'ing anytime in the future, you are going to love it.

Yeah, my brother has a TON of the Christmas stuff...that's so awesome. Does anyone know how long the new items and quests are going to be available? I'm stuck at home, unable to play (and it's killing me inside) until Monday evening.

I love this game. I love it so much. I forgot how awesome it was and how much fun it could be, and I'm quickly getting HIGHLY addicted to it...almost like I was with Diablo 2. But I can't talk about that...it brings back terrible memories of almost failing out of high school and cravings that come with a deep, severe addiction... :( :o

Hahaha, I love the holidays. I made 62k off of candy cane shards today. :D

EDIT: Whisper me IG if you want to know the farming secret of doom for CCS's.
EDIT2: Stock up on candy canes (not shards - candy canes from the collectors), I guarantee you they will be worth assloads after the holidays are over. (They remove DP when used/eaten/whathaveyou).

I have a bunch of Char Carvings...but where is the guy that I go to to trade them in for candy cane stuff? Is he in Ascalon? My brother showed me last night, but I dno't remember and he's at work until 5.

And when is the candy cane stuff going to be done and the game back to normal? I want to cash in on this as much as possible before they change back.

Sweet...my brother found a purple bow that ended up being 15-28 with +22 health.

My current bow is just a blue 13-24 with +21 health...so I've got max damage, plus I can customize it, and I won't lose my health bonus. Sweet!

And he got me one of the candy cane bows. So I'm pretty happy.

It would've been really sweet if they had made entire armor sets of the candy cane and gingerbread stuff.

Yep, that was all in one run. We deserved it though, the part right before you enter the cave (in mineral springs) with Lyssa in it has about 25 Avarica there, we got owned and spent like an hour trying to get everyone ressed and get through, it was a bitch. When we got to the cave there was like a million ice imps in there and we got all those IDS's, it was fun.

I'm a n00b to the late game stuff, so...what's an IDS?

Icy Dragon Swords. It's like a fiery dragon sword, except it looks way cooler and does Cold damage.

They were recently added, they only drop on Ice Imps in the Mineral Springs cave, it takes like 15 minutes from the Granite Citadel to get there, gotta fight through tons of shat, and then just tear through about 20 imps and hope you get one (they have like a ridiculously low drop rate) and do it again.

It's nice though, all of them are 15>50 and sell for 50kish.

That's awesome, and they do look really badass. My brother has like 5 of those fire swords...it'd be so sweet if you could dual wield a fire and ice one.

Yowza...and why does it have "Health +30" twice instead of just one +60?

There's a certain number of mod slots on a staff, and if there was only one +60 it would leave one open for another +30. That aside, you couldn't add two +30's on any regular staff anyways, but this is a greenie (special weapons that drop on bosses in Sorrow's Furnace) so ANet can do what they want with the weapons.

man best Christmass event I've seen in any game ever.ANet really put some effort to it.lots of cool stuff and decorations plus the new candy craze.oh and the snow ball fight.I'm not playing the actual game anymore just snow ball fighting. (mikec)

Just imagine a warrior in his underpants wearing a pumpking head trying to escape with a santa present in his hands while having "crippled animation" on saying "Hmmm snow cone"(trying to heal),pure fun. XD

I just couldnt help myself but laughing at him it was golden.a pumpkin head warrior in his underpants?sign me in for a good laugh.

btw I noticed some guys trying to buy out all the candy canes and candy cane crafting materials available,it seems that they would be selling them at much higher prices later on,thats my impression.I suggest keeping your candy canes might get more profit later on.

Guild Wars developers have done really good job at these special events. Halloween was even better than Christmas! Mad King FTW!

So there are special Christmas missions and stuff, too, right? Those are only going to be available for a short time, I s'pose. Guess I better get on my horse and get my character up in levels...
