The statue you see before you resides at the southern tip of Lornars Pass. And, yes, it allows you to enter the UW!

Hey I just came into possesion of Guild Wars and the expansion Factions I was hoping to have some questions anwered by you fine folks

I know that factions is stand alone, and that all the race/class are available so I was wondering if I should even bother with the origional or just sell it on ebay or somethin.

Are players from the origional Guild Wars able to play with people who are playing with the expansion?

Factions isn't really an expansion so to speak so you can play it without the original game but if I were you I'd play them both starting with game 1. More fun that way. You can always still sell it on ebay when you're done with the first part.

Keep the original... you are mission out on a ton of skills and a ton of other stuff by not having it, same goes for not having Factions.

yes factions people can play with prophicies people and vise verser.

i think of factions as more or a pvp game and normal gw as pve

ugh. just watched a new trailer for Nightfall, and i want it to come out soon. with my main ele, who ive used for over a year, i have done EVERYTHING there is in Tyria and Cantha, so i need to new continent to explore and dominate.:) 1.58 million exp and counting!

There is a huge write-up about Nightfall in PC Gamer (October). Anyone remotely interested in GW should read it. Inside the mag is a code you can use to get a special quest in game that leads to a special mini-pet. My wife and I read the article last night and Nightfall is going to be amazing. I'm soo excited about Nightfall. A sixth god will be introduced and......there is too much for me to list. OK...back to earning that "Survivor" title :D

Yeah... I bought the PC Gamer and preordered, and paid in full for Nightfall CE... can't wait for this weekend... free preview event ftw.

Yup... I am mainly looking forward to the new skills... not going to start the PvE because I don't want to invest time in a pve character I can't even keep... but I am mainly looking forward to the new skills for the existing classes and the new (hopefully) weapon upgrades that may come with nightfall.

i wonder if nightfall can get me to play guild wars again, after reaching level 20 twice, i really don't see a point in playing anymore.

j0j081- ... I would say get Factions and Nightfall... Factions has some useful skills for the core classes, so even if you aren't interested in the assassin and ritualist, it still has purpose, and also the PvE content is fun to play through once or twice, though nowhere near as long as prophecies was.

nekrosoft13- Not interested in the PVP content? The level cap used to bother me... then I realized the level cap is there for perfect balance... just like the 8 skills at a time cap... the PVP content is great and if you need any help with stuff, let me know... add Klaus Barnabas to your friends list and message me sometime (same goes for anybody else reading this :\).

I can say with almost 100% certainty that the level cap will always be 20. It is there to maintain balance. I don't understand why that is such a big deal to so many people. I can't say that there has ever been a time in GW where I felt like I needed to be higher than level 20.

It just feels like there isn't a point to play after I reach the maximum level in a game. 2/3 the fun (or more) of an RPG is leveling and once that's gone...

But that being said, I got my latest PCGamer finally and reading about Nightfall...I gotta get back into this game. It comes out on 10/27 or thereabouts and Factions is on asle for $30 this week at Circuit City. I think I'll pick that up (wish it was the CE, though) and get going on that I s'pose.
