Hi I need to mod the nv4_disp.inf from the 61.32 driver to work with a 6600gt and vanila 6600. Its a very long story and I cant say why atm as Ive been asked not to Im sorry.

Is this possible? If it is can some one show me how or better yet do it for me?

Thanks either way

edit: the driver isnt for me btw but he says the 61.32's dont work for his 6600gt though they do for my 6800gt

open the nv4_disp.inf file..

add this under the [NVIDIA.Mfg] section

%NVIDIA_NV43.DEV_0140.1% = nv4_NV3x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0140
%NVIDIA_NV43.DEV_0141.1% = nv4_NV3x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0141

and add this under the "; Localizable Strings" section

NVIDIA_NV43.DEV_0140.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT"
NVIDIA_NV43.DEV_0141.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 6600"

hah, you can get DWM to work with a registry hack anyway... (if this is about longhorn)

Its not longhorn :P Its actually a bug a certain game that as we are changing the engine has caused some problems. Every driver above 61.32 has this bug, it has been reported to nvidia, by us and the engines maker so hopfuly they will fix the problem. BUt he would like some drivers that work until then.

However he got back to me this morning and said it didnt work. Is it him just doing somthing wrong, or can the drivers just be incompatable?

Thanks
