For lack of a better word. And the ownership is a bunch of tards as well.

First off, this is pertaining to game 2 of the playoffs which the pistons won comfortably. It relates directly to someone hitting Iverson in the head with a coin.

Iverson was hit while sitting on the bench with about two minutes left in the 76ers' first-round playoff game against the Pistons, Auburn Hills police Sgt. Rick Leonard said in a news release. Other fans pointed out the suspect to police and Palace security.

"The Palace staff and security acted quickly to isolate the section where the quarter was thrown from," Lt. James Manning said in a news release. "We are pleased that the basketball players and fans remained calm throughout the incident."

But here's the real gem.

In the Nov. 19 brawl, Indiana's Ron Artest rushed into the stands and began beating a man he thought had thrown a drink on him. Some of his teammates joined him in the stands and clashed with fans on the court. Five Pacers players and four Pistons fans are charged with misdemeanor assault and battery.

"It's amazing that somebody, after going through what we went through in November, could come in here and throw anything," Tom Wilson, president and CEO of Palace Sports and Entertainment, told the Free Press. "I'm stunned that somebody would do something like this."

Wilson added: "Allen handled it the way Ron Artest should have handled it."

In no way do I condone the actions of Artest. BUT for wilson to make a comment like that is REALLY stretching. Artest was swung at and pushed in the game, than had a cup full of liquid thrown at him, not a coin. There is a difference.

Further, the responsibility is for the security at the Palace to ensure that everyone there, especially the players, are protected.

Considering the fact that this is a repeating occurence at the Palace, the Pistons should be treated like european football teams whose fans misbehave. Docked games and points.

As an aside, someone needs to bitch slap wilson. Piston's fans almost sabotaged the Pacers playoff aspiratons and all but scuttled their title dreams and all he can do is take a cheap shot at Artest even in this situation.

Very special cat this.

I couldn't agree more on all counts...

Tom Wilson is the poster child of a slimey little twerp and to spin that like he did is an insult to anyone's intelligence.

There is no defense for Ron Artest. He simply is a headcase of the greatest magnitude. He will not likely be a Pacer next year and I predict that he will commit another affront to the sport and its fans that will end up getting him banned for life. If he wanted to fight, his fight was with Wallace, but he wanted none of that. No, the 5' 8" guy that he thought threw the beer was a more suitable target for his aggressions. All of this is unfortunate because Ben stuck around after he shoved Artest and gave him every opportunity to get even.

That is the thing that I thought was sad. Artesty backed down from a guy his size and went after a little guy who DID NOT throw the water. The guy who threw the water was to the left like a coward then threw a sucker punch from behind. They all sucked.

That fight was quite possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen.

Ron Artest is the biggest basket case this side of Dennis Rodman.

Artest was wrong, clearly...but something about walking a mile in another man's shoes comes to mind in a situation like that...

I agree...but Artest has had a history of erratic behaviour, and no one wants a person on their team that will bring excuses, instead of their 'A' game to the court.

True, but he has brought his 'A' game to the court an overwhelming majority of the time compared to when he's had his brain farts. I've read a lot about the guy from his childhood on and there's more to him than many assume to know. I do hope that he gets some professional help but he seems to be a very good person. He's gone out of his way for people in many ways on many occasions and never had a beat writer, camera crew, etc around him to "document" it for PR purposes. It doesn't excuse his behavior at times but there is more to him than the outbursts the media focuses on.

Agreed, much like 'Sheed.

However his behavior does not excuse the manner in which Piston's management has not dealt with the situation adequately nor does it excuse the continued disparaging remarks made about Artest while completely negating their own club and fans rather LARGE part in the whole incident.

I totally agree. I will even go as far as that for now on, I will not judge him as to how the media write about him, but I will look at him as a superstart that is as human as I am. Honestly, I don't know how I would act if the media pegged me as a bad boy and would always look for me to mess up....
