I have the trial version of 3dmark 05 and I was wondering what everybody else scores with a 6800GT at 350/1000. I get around 3,667. Is this like normal or around there because everybody else I see is getting in the 45xx and 5xxx. I use the 61.21 driver because all the new ones completely freeze my machine in game. Just wondering on this thought.....

Mind my signature, it does say OC at 370/1000 but I do use the default of 350/1000. I changed it though in my sig.

Your score dosent look good. with your system i would expect something between 4750-5250 so something might be wrong.
& if you are getting freezes with the official drivers , then there IS something wrong & you should fix it & that would be the reason for your low score most likely.

I don't know what though, because all my games such as Doom 3 and Half life 2 get over 60 FPS and they all run fine except 3dmark. Just a little lost on this.

If all your games run fine .. then skip the whole 3DMark thing & dont concern yourself about it.

Just wondering on this thought.....Something is very screwy here. You say "every" driver, but have you tried the 71.89? After a clean OS installation? You running the latest drivers for your MB?

The reason I ask, my XP 2500 machine pulls a little over 4,900 *edit* oops, just ran the test and it's actually 5,439..bad memory..BAD, and it's completely stock, other than the tiny BFG factory OC.

*Edit* I just read that your games are fine. It's true that generally 3dmark means nothing whatesoever when it comes to game performance. I would still be concerned that, while it may not be the end of the world, your low score could be indicative of a greater problem in your system.

Additionally, you say you can't run any newer drivers. This should not be the case, and something is hosed, period. In fact, that seems to be the only "real" issue here, one that needs to be taken care of. That ancient driver alone could very well be the reason for the low score.

Clean that puppy up, make sure everything is seated properly and plugged in, format/re-install the OS, SP2 and chipset drivers, then throw on the 71.89s from NV's site, and enjoy your games! If this doesn't work, we have a larger task ahead.

Talking 3DMark05, how come every card out there chokes at it? On some models, my card is getting like 29-33 fps while on others, it choke and barely gives out 2 fps?!!! I would expect that 6800Ultra and Radeon 8xx would run around it with ease. What's so intense about it that every card chokes?

thats a pretty weird score, but also u need good specs to get high score (ur specs are fine) i get around 5,000-6,000

heh, its supposed to be like that, the first few tests stress out ur vid like hell and u onl can maintain 30 fps, the last tests where u get 2fps, that tests ur cpu not vid card (ur vid card isnt working as much for that test)

Sounds low man ... even when I tried 350/1000 just to see how much better OC'ed to Ultra was ... I was scoring around 4400.

I got a score of 5856 (or 5658-kind of forgot). Is that considered low for the Ultra?

Ok I used the latest driver number in which I forget what it was but I scored a 4666. With this new driver, at default with BFG is 370/1000 it would freeze, but at normal GT clock frequencies at 350/1000 it would run smooth. I'm not overclocking until I get my water cooling installed this summer. Thanks for replying guys.

Hmmmmmmmmm, whenever I test at 350/1000, I get about 4666, however, whenever I test it at 400/1100, it just freezes in 3dmark not even 3 seconds into it. Any takes??????

Maybe your card is an OC'ing dud? :(
