I've been hearing a lot of people say the Nv IDE Drivers are not the best..

i personally have them installed on my XP Pro w/ SP2..

is there a correct method for removing just the IDE drivers and then letting windows reinstall the default?

I have heard the same thing but if you are not having hardware failures or spontaneous reboots, I would just leave it alone. I mean if it ain't broke, don't fix it.......

To answer you actual question and not just force my opinion on you :) , You can do to the device manager and roll back the driver. That would probably be the best option.

if you want to remove any driver I would go to the control pannel and look for nVIDIA drivers and click and a box will come up and there you can click on the drivers you want to remove Ide and so on and reboot your gig. and windows will install the default drivers if you think their better as, for me I will stay with nVIDIA for my gig. hope that help, God bless :D
