There are a lot of great HSF assemblies for 939. Zalman 7000cu is a good one. 7700cu is larger, doesn't cool quite as well, but is a bit quieter. The Thermalright XP90 series is also extremely popular and deserves consideration.

I've used my Zalman 7000cu to cool my P4 and also this FX53. It has worked excellent in both situations. Very trusty.

( well then i was forced to open the window in my room...lol and the temp. went down to 48C)

I'm currently using thermal tech volcano 9!
http://www.techtastic.ca/reviews/volcano9/volcano9-2.jpg

Its really noisy...!
i mean when the system boots up its oky but when windows loads... well the fan speed starts going up!
the case i'm using is also equipt. with 3 enermax fans :P all set to full speed!
but they are not as nosiy as the TT :P!

Got a silent boost meself.. Very nice and quiet.
Doesnt' cool as good as I'd like. Running 2.1ghz, 1.7volts and I can hit 60 degrees under load within couple minutes.

if you want to OC that athlon xp, get a thermalright HSF. my bro runs one and he runs his 2800 at 2.2ghz at 40C idle and 45C load

For the Athlon 2400+ I would recommend a Thermalright SLK series heatsink. Anything large would be too much of an overkill for such a small chip. No volcanoes from Thermaltake, their fans tend to go out very often and they are too damn loud.

For the FX-55, obviously a Thermalright XP-90 0r 120, all about Thermalright baby :)

According to reviews Thermalright XP-90C is an all copper heatsync that cools just as well as an XP-120 with an added advantage of being smaller than an XP-120. I'd recommend an XP-90c any day over an XP-120.

you can try what I did was to mod your case. About 30 mins. of your time and $20.00 for cpu, plexi glass and one good fan and if you want to cool your overclocked GPU add about $15.00 dallors to that and 20 mins, of your time.
note that my cpu fan/heat sink is silent boost and I know that you will be happy w/what you get a cool running rig., and the fact that you did it all yourself that my joy, check this out

maybe you can do better show me and we can lean together. and if you get the right fans there willn,t be so nosie like you think you,ll be happy. got to go burned the rice and my fingers hope that helps
