If you have an install of NVDVD from your vid card's driver disk, does that give you the same decoder that you pay for from nvidia's site? Or do you still need to buy the decoder even if you have NVDVD?

And how would you rate the quality vs something like Win DVD? Win DVD seemed to be leaps and bounds better than the NVDVD install from my driver disk.

I don't know, I use PowerDVD. I didn't like the NVDVD player.

No, NVDVD does not include the new decoder.

They are coming out with a new multimedia product that does I beleive, though it is not yet available.

NVDVD and the decoder are two different things. You can download a 30 days trial on Nvidia website if you want .I did and personally i don't see any difference with the regular decoder that i use. There is no need to buy this after 30 days imo because it should be free in the first place and it's not like it truly compensate for the broken VPU.
