Oh, I can't wait. I ordered my Leadtek 6800GT 256mb AGP 8X (http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814122195) from newegg this morning with Fedex overnight and it should be here tomorrow around 4:30 pm pacific time. How do you think it'll run? I know it'll probably be bottlenecked because of my AMD Athlon 2800+. Should still blow my BFG 5900 128mb out of the water.

That is all.

It ran nice and smooth and you have a 2500+, oh that's great. So, I assume a 2800+ will run great also. :type:

Does anyone where have the one I'm talking about, the Leadtek. I was just wondering if that has done anyone well.

don't worry about what brand you have, as long as it's a GT, then you're set!

That is all.You are in for one hell of a treat. I nearly doubled my performance in many games, primarily the newer ones. The ol' XP 2500 is still kicking hard, thanks to this card.

I used to upgrade to the latest and greatest CPU the day they came out, but that got very expensive, very fast. It became apparent that I no longer needed the constant CPU fix after watching my GT kick the tar out of virtually every game.

Now I just sit back and let the card do the work. It's amazing how well this CPU has held out. When running the latest 3d software, this rig hangs with the best, thanks to the 6800GT. Well, it hangs with the best non-sli rigs, that is...oh, and ignore 3Dmark. Outside of 2K5, your scores will of course be quite a bit lower than an FX-55 system, but who gives a damn when your games are beautiful and still run like greased lightning?

thats a good point. with our pc's.. it shouldnt be so much about having the best... it should be about what allows you to have a great gaming experience.

welcome to the club :)

i advice using Winfox and get Leadtek 71.89. This feels different (mainly faster) then the Forceware version.

enjoy ure card

i am just gonna sit back a wait for your face to melt.

i read somewhere that nvidia was going to get sued cause all of the 6800 owners are getting broken jaws from smiling so big when they first fire it up. :)

Well this is undoutedly your lucky day!
Ironically, I just replaced my FX5900 with a (refurbished) Leadtek 6800GT.
I've had the GT for about a week now, it blows the FX5900 out of the water.
All games (especially newer ones) run smoother and at much higher FPS.

Enjoy..............
