The U.S. Army (who threatened to ream me up the ass if I made any jokes about them) today announced that they've spent several hundred thousand more dollars of tax payer's money by purchasing an Unreal Engine 3 license, in the aim of making their recruiting tool even swankier:

Head to your local recruiting office now, or be conscripted by Bush in the near future - your choice.

Wow, what a well written, non politically charged, and unbiased article.

For some reason I just dont like the way America's Army is managed
No swearing, no doing this, no doing that...

should have put this in the political part of the forum so the politic buffs could have snapped at everything we write here.

America's Army eats Counter Strike for breakfast... I guess I'm kind of a fan. UE3 for this game sounds good (and you know it'll be on linux too! :) )..

So is there cheating going on in America's Army?

No swearing? You probably have parental filters on? I was an avid CS:S player, but I got tired of Steam (very fast I might add) and went to playing AA.
AA is such a better game hands down. And it's free!

Did you guys know that America's Army will soon be on the Xbox (current, not next gen).

I'm sure someone somewhere is cheating on AA, but I've never suspected anyone of cheating, unlike other games. I have run into annoying numbnuts who teamkill or will flashbang you and heal you to get more honor points. But that's fairly rare...

It will be primarily ps3.0, but like with all unreal games, it will be very scalable, there will be a ps2.0 option that will look pretty darn nice, but if you want the options maxed wait it out. Heck, wait it out even if u play ps2.0 g70/r520 will be out way before this game, save for one of those that will run it at decent speed in all it's glory.

Whoa, now Silicon Knights have lisenced the Unreal Engine 3. This engine is really getting a lot of attention, hopefully the art design for the games that use it will match the technology.

Intresting, but I never liked AA anyways.

It is kinda werid, however there is a low amount of cheeters because you have to 'register' to play so they keep banning them heh.

America's Army rocks. I'm still waiting for the update to UE2.5. :D

Hmm...wasn't AA the first game to use UE2? I wonder if it will be the first to use UE3 as well?

I'm pretty sure Unreal 2 was the first game to use the Unreal 2 engine.

IIRC AA came out before U2 didn't it?

Huh, actually looking back over release dates it seems it was. I thought Unreal 2 was released in early 2002...guess I was off by a year.

My buddy keeps trying to get me to dump counterstrike and get into AA. I just can't break my addiction though, CS is such a rush. What am I to do? :D

Wow, everyone is licencing the Unreal Engine! So much for the Doom 3 Engine, Source and CryEngine!
