I've had a BFG 6800 GT for a few months now and at first I was very impressed, but now I'm noticing more and more games aren't running very well and I can't figure out if it's something with the card or what. Example like Rublic Commando at res 1280x1024 it all runs smooth untill there is like anything with a transparency involved then the frame rate drops to a choppy mess. Same with like Pariah, it will run super smooth and then all of a sudden a transparency will be in view or some textue that makes everything like get really slow. Also even games like Swat 4 I expected better performance with everything turned on at 1280x1024. I find myself more and more turning options off to keep the games running smooth and I just wanted some feedback as to if it's just me or is the card just not that great anymore.

Defrag, check for spyware, adware, and virsus!
What PSU are you using?
It may be a power related issue!

I had the same problem and I upgraded my powersupply from an Alpine POS to a OCZ Powerstream. What I think my problem was is that when you start putting a load on your video card, the voltage strays off to much.

I had the same problem when I was OC'ing. I would get random lock ups and crashes from my games to the desktop. I should point out that it hasn't happened yet so I may not have actually fixed it but the next week or so will tell me, then I'll start bumping up the HT and see what happens. I just put that PSU in my new system 2 days ago.

It may be that your inadvertantly starving your video card. Just my take on it.....
