I hope they can hold homecourt, now that they have wrested it from those Motown maniacs.

Oh man it was a good win. I was standing up for most of the game. :D Yeah, I hope they can win both at home...if they can do that then I think they'll take the series. I continue to be impressed with how incredible a coach Carlisle is. The adjustments in so many areas tonight just blew me away. Larry Brown will be making adjustments for Friday night too though. Should be a great game.

Both teams are exceptionally well coached. I was really surprised when Detroit dumped Carlisle after consecutive 50 win seasons and a COTY trophy, but LB did take the to the promised land. I wish your team good luck.

Yeah, LB coached the Pacers for a few years as I'm sure you know. A lot of connections between these two teams. I'm looking forward to a great series no matter how it turns out. Thanks!

If Artest was in there, I would give it to the pacers.

But they have gutted it out all year and I like their chances now :)

Heat likely have it wrapped up, as do SA.

Dallas/Pacers series' likely == the funnest ones :D

I'm hoping that the Pacers would take the Pistons down--for good!

I wouldn't put anything past the Pacers now. Everyone around here still had faith in them to pull that win out last night. They just keep on showing so much resolve over and over again.

I just hope they get past Detroit. A Pacers/Heat series would be great to see since the Pacers have beaten them the past 11 out of 12 times ...or something like that.

Oh yeah, DiscipleDOC --> :skeleton2

I think that the Pacers match up well with the Pistons. I just can not see how they will get past the heat though....

This should be another win for the Pacers....They have a good and rowdy home crowd, so it should be pretty good....

Yeah but I won't be there tonight to show my "appreciation" for the referees. :( I can holler really good if they make enough bone-headed calls.

I'm not going to be home either to watch it. But I hope by the time I do get home, they are showing the highlights!

Game on tonite.

Seems like whoever wins has a good chance v/s Miami if Shaq's leg doesn't heal properly.

Pacers lost a coupla games at home the previous round so not taking anything for granted but I am going to be rooting for them :)

Good to see a lot of Pacers fans around here.

I agree, home court advantage has been nonexistent for the Pacers lately. Rip is only 75% (calf) from the crash he had with Tinsley so that may change the game a bit. Always keeping track of him coming of screens is a chore. I'm going to have to PVR tonight's game...my wife has some kind of belated birthday/anniversary surprise for me tonight...

Go Pacers!!!

Got REAL hairy there at the end. A proper playoff game at last :D

Foster's on steroids or something, that boy is just having an out of body experience these past 2 games.

Now if only someone on either team could consistently knock down shots.

Yeah, rather thatn getting Bender and the Pacer's 17th pick in the first round, I would take foster and the 17th pick. This is for George(who I think is very talented and don't want ot lose, but am apparently not joined by management in this feeling) and Slava. I think there might be more to the deal, I am not feeling up to confirming the minutia, but I prefer Foster over Bender for my beloved Lakers. A lot of Laker fans are screaming Odom for Artest. I do not like the deal due to character issues, but Ron-Ron is a heck of a player, as is Odom. It really boils down to which direction they decide to take the team.

WRT last night's game and Miller's performance I can only quote one sage sports fan that once called my knowledge of the sport into question: Umm No Some 40 year old veteran is not going to bring a team to victory, but rather keep the benches warm.

The lakers need a direction before they get a set of new lads in.

Right now its Kobe and a buncha guys. Even Jordan had a Scottie. If Kobe goes it alone, he's gonna get killed out there.

Caron and Kobe really started to click at season's end, but he is approaching big contract time so a decision may have to made that is unpleasant. I hope not, as he is a piece I would like to keep. If he improves his handle a bit and Phil returns, Caron would make a good guard for the triangle. I would be willing to trade Odom for Kidd, but that is a difficult decision due to what Lamar brings to the table. Our (ugh) lottery pick will get us Felton, but we all know that Phil is very reluctant to start rookies. Offensively we were more productive than the last season of O'Neal. Defensively we need to get the front line beefed up. I do not think that Stromile Swift is the answer that many Laker fans do, but Pau would be difficult to obtain. Perhaps the Indy trade I mentioned then trading our projected #10 and #17 picks to Charlotte for the #1 so we can get Bogut. An interesting off-season awaits. For a Laker fan the off-season will be more exciting than the reg season past.

I love Odom, but Odom's game clashes with Kobe's in that he NEEDS the ball in his hands to be productive.

Odom is a player we need not get rid of. Just think if George and Vlade were healthy this past season how well they could have played. Not championship quality obviously but they would have held onto that final spot rather than going into freefall.

Atkins, Bryant, George and Butler give them a good backcourt, they need to dump Grant and get someone else up front with Odom.

Woo hooo!!! Man, that was a crazy game. I am still laughing at anyone (Larry Brown) that thinks Reggie pushed off on that last shot. It was a F-L-O-P by Hunter...anyone that thinks someone as thin as Reggie could blast a guy like Hunter off the ball with a chicken wing is delusional or grasphing at straws. I watched that play over and over again and IMO Reggie's arm/elboe didn't even make contact with Hunter. Hilarious. Anyway, there is a great article here along these lines:
