When it comes to nvidia drivers, dates are very misleading, you have to look at both driver version and date, 72.03 is just a 72.00 driver with 3 minor updates, usually OEM specific bug fixes, 71.80 was a public driver with total of 9 different bug fix updates, aimed at general public as opposed to OEM in this case...this is a very simplistic explanation, there's a lot more to driver version numbering and dates but its just too complicated and boring :D

Do these drivers as well fix the lockup issues and fix the jitter problems every owner with 6800 series sli are having?

They fix the shake on widescreen dvi BUT LOCK UP EQ2 EVREY 2 MINUTES OR SO. They are also slower in eq2 and 3dmark. They are unusable for me given I play eq2. Stii no fix for me. I am beginning to hate this set up and think sli is a huge waste.

I tried these and are replacing the XG's 71.89's for these...reasons?
gained almost 100 points in 3dmark05, NO sound pops, gained 2. fps in cs:s VST... overall better :) I vote for XG's 73.00...

I'll be staying with my 76.45a XG's.

Well, World of Warcraft runs fine on these drivers and I haven't had the screen flash black surfing the web like it had been doing with the last official drivers. So, I'm keeping these for now.

So since you are running a 6800U SLI setup, I guess the windows "LOCKUP" issue is fixed in these..

This driver cleaned up some of the light banding issuse's i had in FFXI but still has the massive framerate drop when anyone cast's any kind of spell effect that use's heavy alpha blending....Yet another typical NV driver fix one thing break something else....next

I like these drivers as they fix my SLI problems, but I did find a bug of sorts that causes a lockup.

If you set your computer to shut off your monitor automatically after any given amount of time, when your computer wakes up it will lock up as soon as you go into a 3d game.

The solution is to go into the power settings in the control panel and set "turn monitor off after X minutes" to never. My pc's been on a day+ now and haven't had a lockup yet.

Presumably this is an SLI only problem, and it's only a problem for those people that keep their computers on all day, but if anyone's having any lockup issues you may want to look into something like this.
