Got this in my inbox today from Mr. Sweeney:

So... any Unreal3 engine questions? Or UT2007? :D

Hi,

I'll be at E3 and would be happy to meet.

-Tim

So rather than try and think up questions that you guys would like answered, I will just ask here. What do you want me to ask? Any burning questions that you would like him to answer? I'm gonna do my best to locate him at E3 and get any questions you have answered... so... what do you want me to ask?

Remember E3 starts Wednesday! :D

yea, im really curious to know if a 6800 Ultra can handle this game, max detail 1024x768 no aa/af at least. Will there be a ps2.0 mode you can play through instead, like...will the game be as flexible as unreal 2k3/2k4 were/are.

Also, will the pc version differ from the xbox 360 version?

I'm working on a few more, but having been a programmer myself, I came up with the following questions:

Are shaders in UnrealEngine3 being developed using DirectX 9's High-Level Shader Language (HLSL)? What are some of the main benefits you've seen by moving to a HLSL?

Does the DirectX 9 shader compiler do a reasonably good job of producing optimized code (compared to shaders that are "hand-written" in assembly language)?

UnrealEngine3 is targeted at DirectX9 graphics hardware as the minimum specification. What are your thoughts on providing fall-back capabilities for older hardware as opposed to not supporting older hardware altogether?

Have you or do you have plans to incorporate Shader Model 3.0 features in UnrealEngine3? If so, can you tell us about any of the features that made the developers job a bit easier?

Since I gave you his address, you have to ask this for me ;) ;

Will Unreal Engine 3 have full support for realtime soft-shadows, from all lights cast from onto everything from everything? Moving lights included?

Wasn't UT2007 already listed as a Xbox360 title?

I'd like to know how they plan to improve UT Onlaught game mode to
1) Make the game easier for new players to learn and play
2) Be fair and fun for the losing or disadvantaged team

Q:
You have stated that you are going to make UT2K7 'less bouncy' as a multiplayer gamer who started in Quake, ive noticed that games have been getting 'less bouncy' and 'slower movement speed' every time. UT2K4 is already redicously slow compared to UT, assumeing less bouncy goes along with slower movement speed, dont you feel you will be turning your back on dedicated Deathmatch players from the Quake/Quake II/Unreal Tournament era to copy games with slow movement speeds such as Call of duty and Counter-Strike?

I haven't seen it listed thus far. I have seen, however, games that are going to use the UE 3.0 Engine though.

jakup, as most of you know many companies are switching over to dual core cpu design. (intel, amd) rumor is that the unreal 2007 engine is the first to really support this.

please ask about how/if that is being incorporated and the design importance of this.(as well as the difficulty)

second see if you can get a question in on the importance of a 64-bit os over a 32 bit one. what improvements should we see, etc? (the question you asked carmack in the other thread)

what's your comment on the performance of XB360 and the next-gen PC Hardware(G70/80/R520 and dau-core cpu) on UE3?which platform is better for UE3??
and also, ask him about his opinion on the new daul-core GPU(G80??).does a dual-core GPU deliver much more power than SLI\AMR??much more efficiency and compatible?
