I asked this on another thread, but I got no answer, so I'll ask this here:

I think nvidia said that the RSX is capable of 128bit fpp at the sony conference, no? If so, isn't that about as double from the 7800???

It's just another marketing term for FP32.

the PS3's Nvidia RSX Reality Synthesizer GPU does not have eDRAM, dispite what Inquirer said. Inquirer is full of it. PS3 has 512 MB of RAM

256 MB Rambus XDR plus 256 MB GDDR3. no eDRAM.

The Xbox360's ATI R500 GPU has 10 MB eDRAM on a seperate module, not part of the GPU core itself. it gets to be called eDRAM because even though it isnt embedded into the main GPU, the eDRAM is embedded into a chip that has curcuity for anti-alaising and stuff.

but Inquirer is totally wrong about PS3's RSX having eDRAM. it doesnt. otherwise it would have been mentioned in the specs.

I thought that they haven't released all the specs of RSX so there isn't anyway to know about the embedded ram. How can there be such a large difference in transistors between the RSX and the X360 GPU??? Isn't it like 300+mil. vs. 180+ mil... Thats a big diff.
edit.. yeah i read that article about transies... i was surprised actually
