Wow this is really impressive...

2.7Ghz on stock cooling. Thats a 900Mhz overclock on a $150 CPU :eek:

When I get my next paycheck im ordering one of these bad ass little things to finish off my new rig. With an Epox 9NDA3J, my 6800GT@ 420\1.17, my new 200gig seagate 7200.8, the gig of ram im using now and my new case... my rig is going to SCREAM, not to mention be pretty damned cheap.

6800GT = $315 :D
9NDA3J = $95
3000+ Venice = $155
Rosewill Case = $45
430W Antec True Power = $70
RAM = ~$150
200gig 7200.8 = $115
DVD drive = $20
NEC 3200A DVD burner = $50
floppy drive :p = $10
NEC FE991SB 19" flat screen CRT = $280
Logitech MX500 = $0 (gift certificate :D)

Thats $1305 TOTAL, PLUS I'll have another complete system to sell or use. Not bad at all :)

:) NICE!! .... I just updated my system to the Vinice 3000+ with an ASUS AV8 deluxe and some good ddr memory.

First try, air cooled with the stock AMD heatsink 270*9 = 2430 MHz.

Second try, 300*9 = 2700MHz. (kinda scary how easy this is).

Will do try #3 tonight.....

Does that thing pass Prime95 blend overnight?

6800GT = $315 :D

Is that a PCI-E 6800GT? If so, where did you get it for so cheap a price?

Riptide- It's very new setup. The only benchmark test I've run is 3dmark2001. This ran at 2430. For testing stability @ 2430, I rendered a dvd to svcd (8 hours). I have not tested at 2700 too much yet (It boots and seems to run windows fine. Will do that tonight and push a little further if possible.

At 2430: cpu temp idle is 33, heavy load is about 45.

Try SuperPi 32M a few times and see if it passes.

Heh, check my sig, its an AGP.

I got it on a special Best Buy pre-order deal in June of last year. 6800GT OC on sale for $299+shipping. I couldnt pass it up, and im glad I didnt. Its been a hell of a performer, and I'll finally be getting a CPU powerful enough to fully use it. Awesome thing is, nearly a YEAR later its still top of the line (as far as single cards go) and its STILL worth more than I originally payed for it.

Cant beat that with a stick :D

Did you have to do any "favors" to get deals like that? :D

100% stable at 274 x 9 =2466MHz. Ran Prime 95 and 3dbench.

The strange thing is that I can clock this puppy to 295 x 9 = 2655Mhz and run prime 95, but when I run any graphics intensive app, the screen gets blocky and scrambled and computer will lock- seems almost as if the APG divider is not 100% working and holding at 66Mhz.

Bottom line, the Venice core rocks.
