I was watching that very live broadcast and I thought the exact same thing when I saw them, first they covered the main seating area, 90% of them were nerdy looking people, chatting and doing nerdy things ready for games, giving the finger etc... Then they'd go into that section and they were always smiling attractive people. I had thought initially MS could just plant some people in the show to make it better, now I know they did for sure

Oh well, it would have been funny though if they could screw up their timing and start cheering for the new console before the MS reps unveiled the thing:
- omfg, this is beautiful, give them hell MS
- not yet you idiots :p

Oh man that made my night.
I thought some of the audience had to be staged when watching the thing just like the WHOLE MTV audience.

Yeah, I've been watching G4 for all of my E3 needs and they were talking about people booing when the Nintendo guy showed off the "console design" and that was all for the revolution unveiling. They didnt' have anything to show and that' why they boo'ed.

As one friend said, "It's like a Bush press conference!"
What the hell is that supposed to mean?
The Bush TownHall meetings are close to 100% staged... If you aren't part of the act, then you basically have to swear you are a Bush supporter, won't say anything stupid, and supposidly sign legal documents to hold you liable on what you say and do.

Um ynnek have you actually watched a bush town hall meeting? They rip him on questions quite alot. lol
People are silly
What the hell is that supposed to mean?
Bush townhall meetings consist of carefully vetted people to make sure it goes to plan. Scripted so to speak, a la the M$ setup here.
