I know it isn't supposed to work.. but was just wondering if anyone has tried themselves, or know someone who tried to run SLI with cards from different manufacturers. I would think that if they are both reference design.. and you made sure they had the same bios.. that it would work. Just a thought.

It should work if they are the same BIOS, but I would never do it.

it SHOULD work but why bother taking the risk?

some people on here say they have gotten different manufacturer cards to work together by flashing 1 card with the same bios from the other card, which fools the SLI into thinking they are the same card..

this probably works best with the cards that are close to the ref design as possible..

Been there, done that.

I used an Asus 6800 Ultra and an XFX 6800 Ultra. Flashed the Asus BIOS in to the XFX and let her rip. Worked just fine. Picked up as 2 x Asus 6800 Ultras in SLi.
