Quadro FX Go1400 256MB in Inspiron 9300

:confused: If I were to install a Quadro FX Go1400 256MB into an Inspiron 9300, would it work properly?

The 9300 can be ordered with the GeForce 6800, but to get the Quadro FX Go1400 you have to order the Precision M70. :(

Any idea how I could get the Quadro 1400 video card that would fit inside the 9300? Dell doesn't appear to sell it. I'm sure they don't condone putting this card into an Inspiron 9300.

I can't get that part to be recognized anywhere on the Dell site. Google hits do indicate it's the correct P/N though. Perhaps Dell simply doesn't sell it?

It occurs to me that the 9300 has DVI output while the M70 has VGA output. I don't know if these connectors are soldered to the video card or cabled to it. If soldered, this could mean the NV41256 connectors won't line up with the openings in the 9300's casework. :(

Same motherboard in both machines, so DVI-D output should work just fine, as the ports are soldered to the motherboard.

The Quadro FXGo1400 is certainly capable of DVI-D output - it uses DVI-D via the Dell Advanced Port Replicator & the Dell Docking Station if neccessary.
