Last time i was on Counter Strike Source i noticed that the CTs had nice shiney helmets and what not but recently when i got on the CTs looked plain. Is this something that Valve has done in an update or is my graphics card?

I'm pretty sure the CT models were updated again pretty recently. That could be what you're getting @. IMO the last update to the models preceding this one was better. I don't know why they keep tinkering with it when there are better things to be doing/fixing.

A friend of mine says he likes America's Army better. He got tired of the punkass CS:S community, the cheating, and the randomness of the game.

I think sometimes the game is just cheap/random and it isn't people cheating. I've got head shots I had no business getting - and I've been hit in the head when people had no business hitting me there.

Once you get some experience, learn a few basic tactics, etc. then the game is a lot of fun. I can't put it down. Right now it's the only game I have installed except for FarCry.

Yeah source has some pretty clean graphics but in most respects (such as the random headshots and its really screwed up physics behavior) it is outright annoying.
