Finally got my new bfg 6800 oc, installed drivers, booted up counter-strike, only to have it periodically freeze. Every 10 seconds or so the whole computer will just lock up, no mouse, no sound, no nothing. But then it will unfreeze and continue like nothing happened. Keeps doing this over and over. It does it in warcraft 3 as well, but not in battle for middle earth for some reason. In windows it's fine. I've tried different drivers to no avail. Nothing shows up in event viewer. I've been using an old gf3 ti200 up til now with no problems whatsoever, other than bad framerate ;)

Is there any tests I can run?

My specs:
Shuttle SN95G5
3200+
WD 200 gig 7200
1gig corsair 3200

Disable "AGP Fastwrites" in your motherboard bios. Also refer to this thread for further assistance:

uh oh... that sounds identical to the 6800U-NF3 freezing problem. What exact 6800 do you have? NU, GT or Ultra?

regardless, i hope you find a fix. There is not always a solution to that problem....
