One has to wonder why Asus' card is almost the size of xbox hueg when this MSI card is so much smaller..... :D

this seems more interesting: http://www.hardocp.com/image.html?image=MTExNzUxNDYzNGZUVmRnd1Y3M01fMV8xM l9sLmpwZw==

a card that works as an AGP or PCIe card....

Woah, that's pretty nifty.
I've been wondering if they were ever going to make a dual interface card. Nice. Although you could always get a dual interface MoBo...

not really...

sure they make some but its not really AGP....its called "AGR" and only works with limited cards and has very very ****ty performance....

unless someone knows something i don't....all the AGP & PCIe boards i have seen do not have actual smooth working AGP....

yea, nvidia's pci-express to agp bridge is apparently a very efficient device. i'm sure nvidia wouldn't have trusted it with their 6600gt's otherwise.

notice the "SLi" connector at the top of the MSI Dual 6800 Ultra card... maybe we can put two dual cards in Sli... =P

those arent just 2 6800u's, those are 2 512mb 6800u's(no im not making a mistake, they arent 256mb ultra's)

yes, we can.
if it costs $400, ill take 2
it sholdnt cost more than a 7800gtx-that would be insane

Whoa now, check out the plaque beside the dual 6800ultra card.

"The World Recorded Memory Size" They need some better translators :)
It might have a gig of memory in total, but each core has 512mb.

Maybe im just not seeing it .. but where does it say that works as AGP too??? Looks like a PCI-E card to me :p Although that would be tight if it was AGP too... AGP is still king :D BTW .. that does not look much smaller than the ASUS one... still looks like it would break off the slot if you ask me ;)

Those are some incredible video cards, both the dual 6800 Ultra with 1gb of memory, and the X800XL PCIe/AGP card

Way to go MSI (urock)

Not that I'd ever in a million years be able to afford that card

Lol, this thread is kinda about 2 different cards. Although mainly about the Dual 6800 ultra card but some one mentioned the AGP/PCIe card.

Right, I forgot about that. I wonder if by putting both cores on one board if they can in fact share the memory? Both access it at the same time. That would be pretty sweet. But I agree, it's probably just 512MB each. And yes they need to work on their translations.

I have one quick question... although it might me more suitable in a separate thread.

Why is SLI only available for PCIe interface?
Why wouldn't it work if they designed a MoBo with dual AGP ports?

My first guess would be the fact that PCIe has a much wider bandwidth, but this would only make AGP-SLI slower.

Please be so kind as to show me path into the light of knowledge :D

Q: The AGP 3.0 specification supported two AGP slots, why did NVIDIA never pursue dual AGP video solutions in terms of both video cards and motherboard chipsets?

A: AGP did not provide the bandwidth to do this effectively. The high-bandwidth bus architecture offered by PCI Express enabled NVIDIA to launch its SLI technology and reach scaling of up to 2X.

Yea its a gig, but its not usable..lol each GPU writes to the framebuffer, so its really only 512mb ram.... 512mb is enough anyways.. heh

w00t!!! how didnt i pay attention to this thread.

dang 1GB mem in this beast besides the dual core  ?? ... i think its time to get rid of my 6800GT SLI :o

If legit, I like it. :) Just wish they'd do an AGP version.
