I try to keep an open mind. In the past some of what has come up did seem, at least on the surface, pretty damn suspicious. Much of it has been satisfactorily explained IMO. But for those interested, I have a couple selections here that can be discussed if anyone likes.

First, popular mechanics march article that purports to debunk the 9/11 conspiracy theory myths. I want to note that this article does not touch on every one of them such as the Bush family and others being warned not to fly ahead of time, NY fire department and WTC complex owner demolishing building 7 on purpose, etc.. But it does touch on a lot of it and I learned a few things.

This is a real gem. Who in the hell is this Air Force guy and why would he say such a thing? Why would he lie?
In February 2004, retired Army Col. Donn de Grand-Pre said on "The Alex Jones Show," a radio talk show broadcast on 42 stations: "It [Flight 93] was taken out by the North Dakota Air Guard. I know the pilot who fired those two missiles to take down 93." LetsRoll911.org, citing de Grand-Pre, identifies the pilot: "Major Rick Gibney fired two Sidewinder missiles at the aircraft and destroyed it in midflight at precisely 0958."

Here is a response by Alex Jones, one of the bigger theorists on the web.

And a snippet of it:
They go on to say that there's a claim that planes have been scrambled hundreds of times before 9-11. They say 'No that's not true, in the decade before 9-11 it only happened one time. One time.' ...The very Maj. they quote, Maj. Douglas Martin, he told the Associated Press that they'd over 60 times, scrambled them and had them intercepted in the year before September 11th. ...I've talked to pilots who've had radio problems and F-16's fly up next to them. Everybody knows this, not just Maj. Douglas Martin the Public Affairs Officer. ...We have the public record, everybody knows this, this is public knowledge.

Also, another source of information. Good old wikipedia. :)

:D Sorry bro, I can't help but get frustrated by the lunatic conspiracy theories of 9/11.

I would prefer to see people poke holes in it rather than express sheer frustration. ;)

I never discount anything flat out of hand just because I don't like the source or what it has to say.

They weren't fake, but Americans didn't land on the moon first. In fact, giant Mexican koalas landed first... the government just doesn't want you to know about them. :bleh:

I don't believe that air force general in the first quote I put up there. If that is a real quote then he's got to have more than just his word before I believe it. If he's telling a lie (probably) then he's lost his marbles after retirement or he's just trying to stir up trouble for some unknown reason.

I thought the popular mechanics article was interesting. Reminded me of snopes sort of except it covered a lot more.

I think Alex Jones is probably right in that there most likely has been military intercepts performed before Payne Stewart's plane, so I don't know why they would say such a thing since it's pretty likely to be a bunch of crap.

If you read Alex's rebuttal he points out a few other aspects of the events on 9/11 that seemed odd that the PM article didn't cover. But he doesn't really adequately cover a lot of the things the article pokes holes at and thus far I haven't been able to see how the PM article is using straw man responses in it.
