I'll give nintendo some credit, they can't make a decent home console anymore, even if their life depended on it, but somehow they found a way to stay competitve in the one market they still have a grip on. http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/06/03/news_6126940.html

(althought now that I think about it I've probably played more fun cube games than ps2 and xbox games combined...)

So how is it that "they can't make a decent home console anymore, even if their life depended on it". Stop playing into the lip service and falling for hype people. ;)

nintendo consoles have always been for nintendo games. their games are deep and enjoyable for all. it's just many people can't get past the 'kiddie' look. i'm glad they never resorted to 'mario extreme!' with mario branding uziz and princess peach dress up like a hoe.

and omfg. i so saw this coming. no one will ever beat nintendo in the handheld market.

Well yeah, but with the new porno movies for PSP coming out, I'm sure sales will go flying back up.

You make it sound like Sony has already admitted defeat in the handheld arena. Trust me, the handheld wars between Sony and Nintendo are just beginning.

stop with the stupid war crap. I swear everytime I hear that my tolerance for idiocy decreases. from a consumer aspect its very unwise to take sides for the pure sake of taking sides. just because you like the company doesn't mean every product they release is golden. instead, do your research, find out what is good, and spend your hard earned money on that which you think is good, not what you think is the better brand.

To be honest, everytime I read uniformed posts like yours my tolerance for idiocy decreases. Besides, who the hell said I take sides? If anybody here takes sides, its you. I never said that anything Sony makes is automatically golden. Quite the contrary, I have done my research on everything I have bought. I mentioned "war" because thats what competition is like between two competing companies.

Touche'. I'm just weary of hearing all the hype and about the console wars this, and the handheld wars that. They're video games people. If people died because Microsoft couldn't sell enough Xboxs, I'd call it a war. It's business competition, not a war. My point was to be wise and take advantage of this competitiveness. Not to take sides because of brand name. And I wasn't aiming it squarely at you, it was just a response to all the incredible hype thats been circling around lately. Sorry if you took offense to it. :sry:

The PSP has already been successful enough for sony to fully commit to it. Hell, the XBOX probably saw worse during its first few months. When big companies like sony and microsoft know theres a market for something, they go all the way with it. They don't stop til the fat lady sings, and their pockets are deep enough to do so.

I thought it would be doing better but yeah the PSP will be more than successful for Sony. If it ever drops to $150 it may even clean Nintendo's clock. Thing is I dont think Sony is pushing it even enough with advertisements I doubt many know that you can even watch full length movies on it. Its time will come, hopefully for Sony before Nintendos next portable which is rumored to be the GameCube it self.

I agree, if psp was ever dropped to the $179.99/149.99 price range it would really give psp sales a boost.

...I didn't think n64 was THAT bad, beside from their horrible controls and the fact that it still used cartridges
