interesting its the same rumors ive heard, but still not even a clue as to when its going to be out. I expect they will do a paper launch after nvidias official launch in order to take soem of the wind out of nvidias sails. Because no news is starting to make it seem like a winter product.

Thats not what Tim Sweeney said :afro:

 not really, a GTX score 9xxx, it can be overclock a bit by 20MHz to 450MHz, it will match or pass R520 10xxx 3DMark 05 score.
Cannot wait to see two of these babies in Crossfire.

G70 will be an inferior product. R520 is better. ATI is playing with 32 pixel pipeline and a 90nm process which nVidia is afraid to do.
Bring it on ATI, I am switching my wagon. I love cutting edge tech and grunt. I have been a nVidia fan ever since I bought my first PC. 6800GT was awesome for me but tomorrow belongs to ATI.
ATI had done it in past with the 9700,9800, and my prediction is the Canadians will slash US this round.

Did you hear him clearly? Or was he throwing a sarcasm with a smile like this--> :D Or probably ATI tricked poor Sweeney.

If ATI pulls out 32 pipes Nvidia will respond.
I'll lay money they already have a 32 pipe card ready.
There is no need for ati or nvidia to pull out a 32 pipe
card right now. They are not going to waste future $
when they can make big bucks on a 24 pipe for now.

and you know this how... both amd and intel had a hell of a time transitioning to 90nm. and they have there own fabs... do you really think that ati doest have the same problems ... 90nm yeilds for both these companies are still having yeild problems. also throgh on top of that the yield problems assosiated with low-k ....

 You never know! With 90nm's very poor yield, it probably wont overclock much same as it did with X800 and X850 XT PE unless ATI want to do.... can you imagine a X900 XT PE + 5800 Ultra dustbuster. :D

"For what we know Nvidia can not mach this with G70." As much as this is Inquirer stuff, but in my capacity, I have found them to be correct!!
I am being very presumptuous.
Well I wouldn't liked to be milked by nVidia for a G70 and later for a G80 within a mere span of 6months.
If ATI offers a full blown setup now, it should be fun cos nVidias G70 will be inferior. Not only that, but the fact CROSSFIRE with 2*X850XT PE beat 6800ULTRA SLI!!!!!! in D O O M 3 (0-o) :clap2: What will ATI do in other games ;)
Head over here to surprise yourself--->http://www.tweaktown.com/document.php?dType=article&dId=773
Nvidia should facilitate to get their G70 out ASAP for it to earn a dime orelse, R520 could potentially still the show.
I hope I am keeping my feet within the boundaries of 'Discussion', negating the fact to be stereotyped. ;)

Sandeep. You dont know anymore about next generation chips than we do. Nor do the people who posted that article. The inquirer makes a business about guessing. You can find articles from the inquirer where they have said the Nvidia chip will be faster. It's a guess. Leave it at that and stop preaching it.

Chrisray, I guess you are correct there. But I was overwhelmed by the numbers so jumped to seek some veracity. In anycase, I must commend CROSSFIRE even with a glimpse of visuality of what its produced.

So you're overwhelmed by a product thats been paper launched and hasnt even been reviewed yet by actual reviewers? Thats fine. No one is taking anything from crossfire here. But as far as I see it. Its a product that isnt available yet. And its a product that hasnt actually been reviewed yet other than original press release.
The R520 hasnt even had a launch like crossfire. Its way to premature to say. "Looks like Nvidia/ATI are going to win this round" when theres not even any real data available on the two.
Hope you are not failing to see where you are posting. I guess I am pertaining to the topic in discussion and in an appropriate thread.
I am quite aware of the forum I am posting in. There's a difference between speculation and posting an assertion as fact. Posting something like "I believe ATI/Nvidia will win this round because of "Fill in the Blank" is more relevent to this thread rather than. "Nvidia/ATI will lose this round because the inquirer says so"
Do you see the difference between? You have no idea. I have no idea. If you'd go back to speculating like the rest of us and stop telling us "How it is" the reaction would be alot different.

sandeep, on that twektown article, they do not mention drivers for the 6800 SLI nor for the board.Add top that the new DFI board for the X200 (possibly very tweaked) and a max resolution of 1240x1024 (notice that as soon resulotion goes up, the diference gets minor). Also please be aware that are some people are a bit esceptic of those results (low ones for NV set up), and no info on clock speeds
Now, if this was the other way around you would be crying "cheat" or "PR stunt".
We should see to believe, from various sources, what this new method of ATI does.
You can always debate this same information from here:
News : Processors : NVIDIA G70 Card First Look
There are a number of G70 cards floating around in the Computex and i guess you guys have seen enough of the G70 close up shots on many websites so here's one G70 that we have put together. We have a taste of the G70 card power in 3DMark but we can't say much at this point of time. The score looks real promising indeed so ATi Crossfire's world record 3DMark05 score of 15498 will probably survive for another two weeks more until G70 comes along. Of course the real battle will begin when R520 arrives in late July.

We got some numbers from this card and it turns out that R520 scores more than 10000 in 3Dmark05. We still don't know its clock speeds but we know the score. For what we know Nvidia can not mach this with G70. Quote
Don't see any proof in the article. Why would anyone believe this? :thumbdwn:

I wouldn't be surprised if the R520 is a bit faster than the G70. The G70 is still going to be a 11 nm chip and Nvidia is waiting to see the R520 before releasing the 9 nm version which will retake the crown.
Its all about timing and ATI seems to be a bit off at this point.
Nvidia had SLI 6 months ago ATI will have it in about 2 months.
The G70 will be released and smash Crossfire like a red headed stepchild, then about 3-4 months later ATI will paper launch the R520 and release it just about the time Nvidia's 90 nm version is ready.
I'm also not counting on ATI having good early drivers this time around for a new architecture (including the move from 24 to 32 bit and SM3.0) and or Crossfire.
To be honest I really don't care because I plan on waiting this gen out and seeing how everything pans out. No point in obsoleting my 6800GT until there is a game worthy of playing that actually pushes it to its knees. From what I've seen coming that won't happen until Unreal 3 in 2006 or so.
This gen is a console for me if anything.
