BTW does anyone have Steel Battalion? I bought the damn thing a year ago and never play it but it's awesome. I have 5Mbps/768Kbps so can host a half decent game...

I have Steel Battalion: LoC and Steel Battalion. I've had it for quite some time. My gamer tag is Raptorman PL.
Though, I won't be able to play that much cuz I leave for 3 months Sunday for some training.

I play the top two, should I buy Mech 2 and GR2?

GR2 is a great game, and a lot of fun to play online.

MechAssault 2 is an okay game. It's arcadish, and nothing like the PC games. But it's still fun.

Holy crap, there are Steel Battalion: Line of Contact players on this forum? I had no idea...I'd been so wanting to play that game online so damn bad but noone is ever on. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to get online until next week or so probably, but if anyone plays that game in the evenings on weekdays and on weekends feel free to add me to your Friends list. My gamertag is Solisar

Also looking for Phantom Dust and Halo 2 players :)

Oh, and I should mention that there is no "host" in Line of Contact. It's a totally peer-to-peer game, everyone is sending and recieving just as much as everyone else. But there's also no lag compensation (both a good thing and a bad thing), so if one person is having connection problems it will cause issues for everyone else.

What's your upload cap Edge? As you may know SB is peer to peer, full mesh, so one lagged player screws the whole game.

EDIT: Hehe, you were editing while I typed my statement about peer to peer =)

When I typed about hosting I meant to say *I* won't lag the game.

No lag from me either. I have 3mb down/768kb up.

My connection isn't really capped either way, it varies from day to day depending on how many other people are using it and whether or not my ISP is having problems. But I think the smoothness of a Line of Contact game is more dependant on packet loss and ping than actual bandwidth, a few people have tested their connection usage while playing a 6 player game and found that it never use more than 60kbit per second upload at any point (which is strange since Capcom's official requirements are more than double that). Unfortunately I've never been able to play anything more than a 3 player game since I've been on my current connection, but the ones I have played were pretty smooth.

I play just about everything that's Live enabled. Really depends on the day and what I feel like playing...
